Myself and my boyfriend have just spent two nights in Tanzanite Executive Suites - we both wish it could have been a lot longer. The facilities such as the rooftop gym, sauna and jacuzzi are all included in the price of the room and I would recommend you take full advantage of them!! As it is a brand new hotel the rooms are spotless and the building is very professional looking. We have been travelling for a while and wanted to stay in a comfortable place for our last two nights and this hotel was perfect and even exceeded our expectations. In particular the staff were not just courteous but incredibly friendly and helpful. The management and reception went out of their way to resolve a dispute we had with a local take away company. The restaurant messed up our order and delivered it 3 hours late, we were then told it would be complimentary and then the NEXT day they demanded payment. The staff and management talked to the restaurant and ensured that we did not have to pay for this.

In comparison with some of the other very highly priced hotels in Dar-es-Salaam this one seems to be the best for value. It is only 500m from the ferry port to Zanzibar, and 15 minutes drive to the airport.

I stayed in the hotel for more than two weeks. It is definitely a quality choice in central Dar es Salaam. The staff members are very friendly, ready to offer help with smiles and actions. It is spacious and convenient., with fast internet access. I strongly recommend Tanzanite!

Room Tip: ask for X03, which is large and quiet

I really hope Tanzanite retains its standards over time - it's very new, and staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious. We used both the three bedroom and two bedroom apartments and both were great. The higher floors give a great view of Dar es Salaam and the harbour. There's also a gym, jacuzzi and sauna with separate times for men and women. Breakfast could perhaps do with a little bit more choice, but what's on offer (bread/local breads like mandazi and kitumbua, fruit, cereal, eggs, sausages sometimes) is of a good standard. It's hard to find much wrong with the place and we will definitely return:)

Room Tip: Go for the higher floors for a good view

We stayed in Tanzanite Executive Suites in June 2011 in a 3 bedroom suite.
It is extremely spacious and classy, with great views of down town Dar, and walking distance to almost anywhere downtown.
The interiors are very comfortable, with a large living room with sofa set, LCD TV, as well as 3 bedrooms (2 ensuite), and fitted wardrobes, which made out 2 week long stay really convenient.
It also has a dining table and a fully equipped kitched and laundry room.
Top likes: Air-conditioning and no power outages like the rest of Dar, and free 24/7 wifi, Jacuzzi and Gym
Top dislikes: lack of good inhouse dining options, and the TV system needs to have more clarity & channel options

The hotel is modern and new (Only 3 months) with all the amenities you would expect in a hotel. The rooms are surprisingly spacious and the staff friendly. The hotel only serves breakfast on the premises so I appreciated the fact that they have a microwave and Coffee making facility in the room so I could have a quick snack in the room when I didn't feel like going to a restaurant. Definately worth a return visit.
