Lovely first class hotel. Excellent and courteous staff located in the centre of Dar es Salaam, near to good quality restaurants. Well appointed rooms, great views and facilities. Surprisingly, the hotel food was exceptional – excellent breakfast, innovative evening meals served with fresh brad (although portions very large).

Very close to the Slipway (you can walk there if there is more than one of you – otherwise, don’t chance it) and the fantastic Bongoyo island

We really appreciate your support and we are very happy to hear that you had a pleasant stay in our hotel.

Thanks for your positive feedback and we are glad to know that you experienced our neighbourhood. Slipway is just mins away and one of the best place in town for excellent crafts of Tanzania.

With in a walkable distance boats are available 4 times a day ( 09:30, 11:30, 13:30 & 15:30) from slipway to visit the reserved islands in Dar like Bongoyo. It will be one of the memorable experience for all our guest which is unusual in a civilised city. We highly recommend to visit these islands while staying with us to experience the beautiful sunset over Indian ocean.

Once again thanks a lot for your valuable feedback and looking forward to provide you a quality service again in our hotel. Take care.

Stayed here for one night only. We arrived early in the morning, received a genuinely warm welcome and were given a room straight away. We had booked an Executive Floor room which is advertised as having great views. Our room had a view of the car park at the entrance to the hotel. After querying this point we were moved to a room on the 4th Floor with lovely views of the sea. The room was exceptionally clean and well fitted out. The bed was extremely comfortable and the ac very efficient. There was an empty minibar (not sure if that was an oversight), an iron, tea & coffee making facilities and a sparkling new bathroom.
We spent the day by the pool where work was still going on to the pool lights, bar area and jetty. A lot of people were either still working on the hotel construction or being shown round the hotel. The pool area had lovely sun beds but no parasols and so shade was non-existent. We had a tasty lunch here.
In the evening we made our way to the Executive Lounge which was nowhere near completion. When asking at reception about this we were just told that it wasn't opened - full stop. Whilst explaining that we had paid extra for this service (which seemed to fall on deaf ears) the Manager approached and welcomed us to use the lobby bar instead. We found the Manager to be very approachable and the only person who could make any sort of decision. The rest of the service was, however, very, very, friendly.
Breakfast in the morning was substantial and prepared to order as there seemed to not be enough guest to warrant a buffet. Despite it being included in our room rate we were charged extra. This again had to be remedied by the Manager and then took a long time to have removed from our bill.
The hotel is in a lovely area and when it is completed it will be lovely. The pool area is vast, the rooms modern and well serviced and the staff are desperate to please. They just need a bit more confidence.
Five stars must go the Manager but I am sure that the rest of the staff will catch up in due course.
A lovely new hotel and one in which I would stay again once completed.

Traveled from US to Dar for business primarily and some leisure. When we arrived to the hotel we were greated by name and treated like royalty. This hotel's staff is very customer oriented and take care of every thing for you.

We were greated by name the entire stay by every member of the staff the whole stay which was 12 days. We did not bring proper adapters for our electronics and the hotel graciously provided this to us. We had a few issues come up with electrical because of all of our devices but they were taken care of rapidly and efficiently.

The hotel may be under construction, but I asked the staff permission to go out on the terrace and had a personal escort to the jetty that is going to be the spa, the location of the Japanese rest. and the swimming pool.

When we left the hotel we felt like we were leaving family. My 40th birthday occured while there and the staff sang me Happy Birthday!!!

Special thanks to: Queen, Moosi, Ruruki, and EVERYONE at the hotel.

We stayed at the doubletree for 2 nights of our holiday in Tanzania, it is up north of dar es salaam by the msasani bay. The lobby is very clean, smells fresh, excellent decor and the staff very helpful to open the doors everytime u walk in and out.
The rooms are great with loads of character, good food at the marimba restaurant with excellent trained staff, Madam Mambosasa at the front desk was very exclusively helpful, thanks to her for the tips and advice on our Zanzibar trip.

The hotel is still under some construction which was kind of a disappointment coz u couldnt get to the ocean front and also the swimming pool and rooms facing the ocean were not yet opened given the-on going construction. Nothing of this was mentioned on the website however when we brought it up to management, they were kind to offer a compensation for the inconvenience. We took a tour around the hotel and we think that it is going to be very elegant when finished with a private pier, water-front bar, swimming pool and a garden.

*Points to note:
It´s next to the Slip-way which has a a supermarkt, shops, restaurants, children's play ground and Barclays bank with ATM which accepts both Visa & Master cards.

Since the hotel location is not so central, getting a cab may be tricky but one can always arrange with the hotel or even still get a cab just outside the hotel, they always seem to be there somehow.

Would highly recomment this hotel for business travellers when it's completed.

Points to note.

*The inroom AC is quite noisy
*occasional Inconsistency of power supply
*The floor tiles can be abit slipery ( be careful when pacing around the room)
*Some rooms have an obstracted view since they are inbetween 2 of the hotel buildings.
*There is no beach on the hotel premises, maybe a few kilomtrs away.

There is almost not so much to do or see in this area but since the hotel rooms have Tvs with multi channels and free access to internet, that can actually keep one occupied.

It is freaking HOT in Dar es salaam, so remember your sun-screen, sun glasses and if u like, a hat as well.

We hope this is helpful, enjoy your trip.
