I don't know Ethiopian food, but I don't doubt that this is authentic. The food is spicy, different and delicious. Sitting at low tables, eating with your hands - It's exactly as described in other Tripadvisor reviews and really good. We had one of the recommended selections. We were there on Friday night and it was busy and atmospheric. Outside is fairly dusty and ordinary to look at, but that shouldn't put anyone off.

I have been to Addis in Dar twice so far and really enjoyed both my visits. The restaurant is situated in a quiet residential street and has ample free parking. The terrace is a lovely place to spend a few hours with friends - there are candles, underlit parasols, and traditional Ethiopian tables and chairs. I participated in sharing platters both time and believe I've tasted most of the menu - it is all delicious. Lots of choice for vegetarians and vegans, too. The food is served communally on a dish of sour bread, and you used rolled up bandages of sour bread to eat the curries. Try the honey wine, too - it's lovely! Seems to work out as roughly 20 000 per head for food and a drink,

I've eaten Ethiopian food many times before in the United States, but this restaurant was as good as any Ethiopian food before. I really loved it! The atmosphere was very appropriate and everyone ate sitting down on the outside terrace. The service couldn't be faulted;and the portions were huge! I really believe that this the best restaurant in Dar-es-Salaam. It was an unforgettable meal.

The food is lovely!!! The service is better than most places. The atmosphere - well it doesn't get much better than this in Dar Es Salaam. The average cost per person is relatively more expensive than other places, but is definitely worth it for the eating experience as well as the lovely food. You get served in a large basin on which is laid a kind of large crepe. The side dishes come seperately, which you simply empty in the middle of the basin on top of the crepe! It's communal eating. However, if you wish to, I am sure they would accomodate the conventional style of eating. Don't forget to leave room in your stomach though for once you are done eating the curries with the rolls of crepes you get served on the side, you eat the large crepe that has been used to line the basin!! (Most tourists are not aware of this - and don't realize they are missing out on the best part!) By the time you finish the curries, this has absorbed the different flavours!! Ensure you make a reservation in advance especially if you want to sit outiside! It is a must try restuarant! Enjoy!!!

I loved the atmosphere and dining there was a fantastic experience. The food is excellent even if, at first, I was surprised we all had to eat in the same big dish.
