“Good food, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

This place is a good restaurant if you want to eat some Lebanese cuisine. The interior looks ok, staff is friendly and looks very professional. Food was very good, especially if you like spicy dishes.

“Good libanees food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

With Al Basha for lunch or light meal you can't go wrong. Well prepared and served. Nice variety of mezza's on the menu. Great food and value for money.

“Dar by night at sidewalk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Al Basha is one of my favorite food outlets in Dar. A friend of mine working in Dar invited me once for a dinner there. I was surprised to see patrons sitting at tables literally on the sidewalk along the street. And pedestrians navigating their way through the maze of tables. Some would find it extremely annoying and disturbing, to me it was something new and funny.

I returned there a few times more, sometimes during the lunch hours, sometimes at night. My overall experience was always positive. The freshly made juices, especially the carrot orange one was fabulous. Quality food as well.

This is not a five star establishment, it is more for people who look for a good food, for a decent price in an unassuming environment. The service was average, but I did not care much as we were going there always to have a nice chat, to spend time together and share a good Lebanese food, which was always the case.

Never been to the sister restaurant at Sea Cliff, and probably will never go. I like this kind of ambiance, not a hotel like restaurant.

“No atmosphere, young men smoking hookahs, fair food.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

We had hoped this would be a good restaurant because it was close to our hotel but we were both disappointed. The atmosphere was blah, not at all attractive, and the manager never said a word to anyone. He seemed annoyed, maybe because he wasn't able to see whatever was on television. It would have been nice to order a cold beer, but Ramadan or whatever Islamic beliefs are invoked prevent the sale of alcoholic beverages - even Kilimanjaro lager, an excellent beer. The food was okay, nothing to rave about, but not of the quality that would have us come back.

“YUM!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

I used to stay in city center and would eat at Al Basha every chance I got. Fantastic Lebanese food, with all salads fresh. They also make fresh carrott juice on the spot. I particularly love the Shwarma and Shish Tauok.
