“Mt Meru with Bryson Adventures - Moshi”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

I hiked with my husband Mt Meru (3 days) with Bryson Adventures and It was stunning, not just the views and the hiking itself, but also the organization of the whole thing and the experience of the staff who here leading us. Bryson adventures is specialized in hiking tours and safari and after many bad experiences in Kenya and Tanzania with agencies who don't understand that the safari is for you a "One life experience", we finally were soooo satisfied with Bryson, because they took full responsibility of our tours and because you feel you are not just a number for them. I highly recommend this agency, you will be not disappointed. You can write to Bryson himself or to Vincent who speaks a perfect english and knows very well how to handle the tourists. Write them and book your safari:

Most of Mountaineers are thinking about only the Highest Mountains like Everest and Kilimanjaro without thinking about those other picks which are not very High but there are very interesting environments and many other different creatures which some are very interesting and rare to see them even if you will drive around!
I have been experience this when I was on walking to climb Mount Meru after after climbing Kilimanjaro and experience the different. For the first day starting to climb Mount Meru I was afraid so much just few meters from the main gate when we reach to the big heard of Buffaloes grassing near the path in both side and we pass through with our ranger but it was very scary but we having very good pictures for those who they were interesting with photos for Buffaloes.
Everybody was wonder how this possible as we thought they will charge to us when we will go very near but it was very safe but they were wondering about us as well and move a bit far when we were at the middle of the group then coming behind us slowly and try to get our smell!
We've been on Safari with Safari Vehicles in different National Parks in Tanzania and we've seen Buffaloes but not that much close as this day!!
But this if was only the first starting point after main gate but as far as we go more in deep to the High Land Forest we saw other tremendous with wonderful waterfall which is like a natural garden where we feel as we're in different World and give each one different feelings even about what we have seen at the first starting point and spoil even all what we have seen while we were on Safari!!
After a short stop for lunch we start to move more up with high elevation but in the natural old forest with different sounds from different species of Birds as well as some other place it was very peaceful and quite!!
Is here where we start to experience the different between on facing a real walking to the High peaks which people the have put to their mind that how they can do it and if they will manage to do it or not!!!
But here you will forget how High you're going and if you will manage it or not as you will have a lot of interesting things to see and it can happen to see all those things on walking and not on driving as most of people are expecting!!
So on walking in the High Land Forest it was very interesting to watch the Black and White Colobus Monkeys which are real arboreal with beautiful attractive color with long hare with beautiful face like waring mask!! Is here where we enjoy some other Birds which you can't see them in low elevation from those other National Parks which we have visited. Hatlubs Turacos which are very beautiful Birds with green pink color with lovely voice which it may attract everybody!
Mount Meru is 2nd Highest Pint in Tanzania and when you will climb this it build your climate and makes you strong to Climb Kilimanjaro and as long as you're climbing Meru it will give you a tremendous view for Momella Lakes and Mount Kilimanjaro as well which is very rare to view when you're on driving!
Mount Meru it will give you much energy and confidence to climb Kilimanjaro with acclimation even if is less high than Kilimanjaro as is much more steep in long distance than Kilimanjaro! You may start experience this but doing camping under Mount Meru for 2 days Safari before you start your climbing as there are very nice clean camping sites with fresh water which drained through natural springs under the mountain!

As the Mount Meru is part of Arusha National Park is very safe place as no dangerous animals as you may watch the stars out side the tent during the night but only watching out about Buffaloes which sometimes are grassing around the camp site but when everybody is fall to sleep!

I can recommend people who're expecting to climb Kilimanjaro to acclimatise from Mount Meru before doing Kilimanjaro. Even for walking Safari which it may arranged from the main gate just on your checking in which is very interesting as well and takes 3 to 4 hours!

I wish all the best with successful to your Travel plan to Africa especially Tanzania!

“Awesome mountain walk”
Reviewed March 8, 2012

Climbing Mt Meru is a must for anyone who loves Tanzania, loves landscapes and loves mountains. It is not a hard walk although the altitude might get to you - so it is ideal to use it to aclimatise for Kilimanjaro which is taller but not as steep. Mt Meru trek's are offered by a range of service providers so shop around! All use the same facilities and roughly the same format. The first day is really short and easy - you walk from the savannah into the tree canopy, the second you descend steeply through the rainforest like trees into the open hill-landscape/shrub and altitude, both nights you sleep in good shared cabins and are overly well fed and cared for by guides, rangers and cooks and porters, there are showers and loos etc. The second night you get up at 1am and head for the summit in the dark with your guide - this is proper mountain walking and totally unsafe without a guide as the paths are indistinct and the drops are severe - it is steep but doable and well worth the effort and sense of achievement when you reach the peak as the sun rises on Kilimanjaro - what a classic view!! Much less popular than Kili too and worth the beers and medals on return:)

“Mt. Meru with Easy Travel, the only way to go.”
Reviewed February 19, 2012

Easy Travel is truly an exceptional company to use for Tanzania mountain treks. The company promised success ans success is what was delivered. The guide was extremely knowledgeable in all the information on the trek for the mountian.I used this company to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, with success. The most important quality that impressed me with Easy Travel is the high level of professionalism that they demonstrated, the affirmation to know that their clients were satisfied, and concern for the well-being of their clients.
