Terrasse des Paresseux viewing platform, or kind of short promenade offers wonderful views of the port, Spain and, on a really clear day even of Gibraltar, places that are for most of the young Moroccans unreachable... A set of ancient cannons faces the bay, and specially children love to climb them, others taking photos and selfies. Very popular among young locals.
Place is about 100m to the east of Grand Cafe de Paris, on boulevard Pasteur, and exactly on the other side of the boulevard is local mobile company shop IMWI and famous Tanjawi perfume shop MADINI, which is also worth to visit.

The Moroccan youth takes from here a longing look at Europe, Spain, Tarifa so near that you can see it yet still so hard to reach. The name translates into the Terrace of the lazy referring to another world when sitting here dreaming was a pleasure of the wealthy. Now children play with the artillery and photos are taken as souvenirs. There is a nice old fashioned teahouse on the second floor of a small shopping center across the street where families go for refreshment.

Located 2 min from cafe Paris.
In this terrasse u can understand why Tangier has always been dreamy and attracting many.
Dazzling view when it’s sunny, when it rains. At night, early morning, and at sunset.

The view was a tad underwhelming - we did see it in the evening and during the day and you can't actually see a lot of the medina as the view is obscured by plants. There is a bit of an ocean view, but nothing spectacular. What I like about it is the setting, and how you can stroll from the old to the new town, pass the iconic Café de Paris and come across this lively, open terrace which is a gathering place for locals and tourists. We were on a bit of a Bourne Ultimatum tour, so went to the location where they filmed the bit where Desh's bike exploded and Bourne gave chase. A must-visit when in Tangier!

Just a useful high spot above the city looking out over the ocean towards Spain and Gibraltar. There's a big esplanade lined with cannon and you'll find locals resting and chatting.

The best place to get panoramic view of the city, it not that spectacular as you may think it is, but worth the visit. It’s good to just relax, chill and also take some good photos.

Sure...it's a nice view but I was expecting something more "Grand" after reading about it. I actually realised that I passed it once without noticing it as something worth stopping for. It's pretty noisy and you get the same view from a number of hotels and restaurants...in peace and quite sipping a drink.

This was the best panoramic view of the city of Tangier and its beaches. It is a perfect stop to rest and enjoy some pictures.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend this place. Is it worth it for the view? I'd rather walk to the top of the Medina, i.e. to the Kasbah neighbourhood where there is far less pollution, cars, people and noise. At least by the Kasbah, you can appreciate the architecture. The "Terrasse des Paresseux" is a place worth stopping by to see a range of canons and locals sitting and watching. Not my cup of tea.

Wandering around old Tangiers rather than taking short hop taxis is highly recommended for exploring neighbourhood by neighbourhood. Taxis cannot descend or ascend by all the winding and sometimes narrow or closed side streets. The views from the heights give a sense of the larger city and its development and recent renovations.
