The location and friendly staff make you look past the faults of this place. For a few nights to explore Tangier it's perfect with a firm bed, AC, it's clean, and inexpensive. I would recommend a guide for learning the city, we were really happy with Aziz Saint Laurent.

I know it's a three star, but a little love would go a long way here. Fixing the light fixtures, touching up the drywall and a fresh coat of paint would do wonders for the rooms. The free breakfast is ok. If you're lucky there will be eggs and potatoes (only one of four mornings for us). The soup is Moroccan and good, and it's the best thing on the breakfast buffet. For lunch and dinner, food in nearby "Comedia" is cheaper and better, and is considered "clean" by locals, but service can be slow.

On the way to Comedia, go down the steps on the left and through the mall for a grocery store with 5 L of water for 10 dh.

If on a similar budget I will stay here again, but I would consider my options.

The hotel has many nice features that normally wouldn't be in this price range. Doorman, pool, lift, air cond big room size. I was very pleased with the accommodation. The room was large even with the two beds. Writing desk, chair and lamp stand with phone. Good size closet and a full bath. Breakfast was included in my price and was a slight step up from a roll, jam and coffee. It had some cheese, yogurt, cereal, milk, juice, coffee, soup, assorted breads and Moroccan pancakes. Maybe a 10 minute walk to the medina area. The pool looked inviting although we did not use it, clear and clean water facing the port. The room had a nice black out curtain and the street noise was not too bad with the air cond on.

Room Tip: ATM across the street for cash withdrawals. Take a right out of the front entrance and walk to the medina area, no need for a taxi. Train station is a good walk, factor about 25DH for a large taxi. Bus station is also about the same distance as the train station.

Hotel Rembrandt met all of our accommodations we were looking for during our stay in morocco. It was inexpensive, had wifi , A/C , hot showers and the staff was extremely helpful. Morocco is a great place to explore so we were in the room only to sleep. The streets of Tanger can be loud at night so bring earplugs if you can. Dont expect 5 stars but overall we would stay again.
The complimentary breakfast was not so good. You're better off eating at a local spot.
We found an experienced tour guide named Aziz, from Morocco Day Trip who took us everywhere. We got to experience all the local culture, the best restaurants, the depths of the Medina and more. Hidden gems you just wouldn't find on your own. It was cheap and worth it!
The city can be overwhelming, do yourself a favor a get a guide. You don't want to miss anything.

Very impressed with this hotel. Good location not far from the medina, in the vile nouvelle. It was a relief to get away from the touts! Booked a double room with sea view as recommended on this site (well worth the extra 10 euros). Got a massive room with a separate sitting area, although it was literally a corner with a couch and table, not in tv viewing range. Got a little balcony as a bonus. Bathroom looked recently refurbished, although half-hearted grouting made me laugh. Excellent wifi - best I've ever had in a hotel. Breakfast would've been good if we hadn't gone so late, delicious pancakes were a bit dry. There were flies around the fresh fruit, but stuck to breads and homemade jams (bit runny...) Didn't use the pool, but it looked good. Competition for the dozen sun loungers must be fierce in summer. Asked reception where we could get mezze and were directed to a fast food joint! Friendly staff though. I'd definitely stay again but doubt I'll be returning to Tangier - the touts ruin the experience!

Room Tip: Book direct through the hotel for best rate, pay extra for sea view room (good view, less noise). Cool lift.
