“Great Boutique Hotel!!!”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Outstanding Boutique hotel, beautifully decorated and over the top service. Michelle and Dominique were extremely welcoming and helpful. We felt at home. The room was tastefully decorated and extremely luxurious with everything you need to relax after a long day in Tangier. Michelle and Dominique helped us with a guide, Youssef, very friendly and professional. Also, cab driver Yahia who was waiting for us at the Port. I also have to say that the breakfast was amazing and that The hotel staff, Latifa, Bouchra and Aicha were very very nice and accommodating. Thank you Michelle and Dominique for making our experience in Tangier an amazing one. We look forward to visiting again and we will for sure stay at Dar Chams again.Best, Dalila,Selma, Lyna and Douglas.

The best 'Riad' to discover Tangier - a delicious breakfast on the terrace overlooking the town was always an excellent start to the day; a 5 night stay gave us time to enjoy discovering the town and region, and really appreciate the hospitality; our friendly hosts Michèle and Dominique were always ready to give us advice.
H.

Room Tip: The twin bedded room to enjoy the view over the town and sea.

This is a beautifully done property in the heart of the Tangier medina. Wonderful hosts greet you and welcome you to the city. The decor and detail are impeccable, the location perfect, and the nearby restaurant is fabulous. Great choice for a night in Tangier. Simply perfect.

This place was amazing. Greeted by Michelle and Dominque and ushered into the living area for tea and homemade cookies. They sat with us and were interested in us, our travels and what our plans were for Tangier. The hospitality was top notch, the attention to detail of the decor was outstanding, even though I don't speak french, our guide and host were discussing the decor and I could figure a lot of what they were saying. It is typical Morocco according to our guide. The bed was so comfy, the best sleep we had so far on our journey. The shower was perfect. Cookies in the room, robes, slippers and all the necessities were present. Location was perfect also, we wandered the streets before breakfast. Breakfast was wonderful and plenty, on the roof patio with an outstanding view. Highly recommended and would stay again and again. Next time for 2 nights instead of 1.

One of the previous reviewers called this Riad "An oasis of calm in the turmoil of Tangier" and we could not agree more. The rooms, furnishings, breakfast, and staff could not have been better. We were really made to feel at home. Our language skills (besides English) are poor and that made us feel a bit overwhelmed in Tangier. And, we felt we stuck out of the crowd as being clueless and vulnerable. Michelle did her best to warn us as to where to avoid and make sure we didn't get ripped off. We arrived late due to ferry issues. The hotel is very close to the Tangier port but not to Tangier Med where our ferry docked allegedly due to wind at the closer port. A taxi left us in the medina in the middle of the night and we doubt we'd have ever found the hotel but for hiring a fake guide. Once inside, we felt fully secure and totally pampered. Hotel is strongly recommended. If we return to Tangier, we will definitely stay there again.

I really loved this place, it was perfect in every possible way. Warmly greeted by the hosts on arrival for mint tea and biscuits. There was a problem with the shower in my room so I was upgraded to a suite (I think the best room in the house) for no extra charge! Thankyou! The location is very good, situated in the middle of the Medina, very close to the Kasbah in fact. The breakfast is served on the roof terrace which offers spectacular views over the Medina, port and beach. The breakfast itself was the most spectacular. Already laid out for me before I reached my own table. The table soon became full of small moroccon dishes. Small cakes, pancakes, omelette, muffin, to name but a few. It filled me right up and set me up perfectly for the day!
Im not the biggest fan of Tangier after my trip, but if you want to go there, surely there cannot be a better place to stay.

The reviews don't do this justice. This place was our first taste of Morocco and it was an excellent experience. The R'Batia suite was unbelievable, and the detail of the entire Riad was amazing. We were very warmly greeted by Michele and her staff, were quickly calmed with tea and treats and overwhelmed with how beautiful the interior was and the relaxing feel. The driver who greeted us at the train station was on time friendly and quite knowledgable. As a mater of fact we spent the next half day with Yahya showing us the surrounding sites and towns. A great experience. Breakfast on the terrace was way more than expected and the food exceptional. Should we go back, this is the place to stay, hands down.
