If you think you are just paying for a room, you might be disappointed. Somewhere else, you can probably find a bigger room than what you can get at Dar Jand, and maybe for a lower price. But at Dar Jand, you aren't just paying for the room; you are paying for the outstanding hospitality of Janet and Andrew. You are paying for a delicious, homemade breakfast; for an informal guided orientation of the Medina; for advice about what sites to see; for excellent restaurant advice; for access to a lovely rooftop terrace, etc. I can't say enough good things about how kind and welcoming Janet and Andrew were.

The house itself is beautiful, too, and if you end up staying in one of the small bedrooms like we did, know that there are plenty of other comfortable places to sit and relax. We peeked into one of the larger rooms, and it looked great as well.

If you can afford to stay at Dar Jand, it is absolutely worth the money.

This place may not be for everyone – it’s a little quirky - but has character in spades (as do its owners). Our room was small but interesting, with an even smaller alcove tucked away above, and hideaways abounding. The shower lacked force and the bed was somewhat lumpy – but this was more than offset by friendly hosts and great location, right in the heart of the Medina. I would certainly stay there again. My wife & I enjoyed it very much.

I chose this B&B from the excellent reviews it had received on Trip Advisor and wasn't disappointed. Hosts Janet and Andrew have the balance just right - they seem to have a sixth sense about when you feel like chatting and when you want time on your own.

Andrew also gave me an orientation tour around the medina and helped me buy a bus ticket to Chefchaouen and then on to the bus the next day, all of which was of course enormously helpful and far beyond what I expected!

My room at Dar Jand was beautifully decorated and may just have have had the most comfortable bed of any I slept in during my stay in Morocco. As other reviewers have said, the breakfasts are scrumptious!

Great place to stay in Tangier. I particularly recommend it to other women travelling on their own as safe and friendly accommodation.

Dar Jand was by far the nicest place we stayed in our time in Morocco.

The location is wonderful - quiet and secluded but also just minutes from the heart of the medina with its cafes and restaurants.

The rooms are charming and very clean, the owner Janet is hugely welcoming and friendly and the roof terrace is the perfect place to spend time watching the city.

And the breakfasts... well, you have to experience that yourself.

We really couldn't recommend this place more.

We had planned to stay for 1 night but liked Tangier and Dar Jand so much we ended up staying for 3 nights. Dar Jand is in a great location within the medina and has a beautiful roof terrace on which to take in the sea and median views/sounds. We stayed during Ramadan and found it a wonderful time to visit. Sitting on the roof terrace before sunset hearing the burble of sounds in the medina below and then the total silence after the calls to break the fast will be a memorable holiday experience. The delicious wine and/or chilled beers with nibbles that Janet would bring up to the terrace for us in the evenings were lovely.

Janet was a very attentative and informative host who bakes fresh scones and cakes for breakfast every morning. Lovely start to the day with fresh coffee.

Strongly recommended.

Having travelling to over 50 countries Dar Jand has definatly made it into my top five stays. The host, Jan is fantastic, having arrived very late in the night and lost in Tangier she actually came out to find us and bring us to the hotel. The place itself is beautifully designed in a traditional Moroccan style yet still has all the comforts of home. The rooms are beautiful and the roof terrace has beautiful views over the vast Medina of Tangier. The hostess took us on a great tour of the local medina, which really put us at ease, and introduced us to her favourite local restaurants. Breakfast is great too, freshly made cakes, scones and a beautiful coffee cake. Tangier itself is fascinating!

Tucked away in the Old Medina, the rooms are beautifully decorated and the view delightful. This B & B caters for the younger international crowd who enjoy an informal atmosphere., so there is always a lively conversation at breakfast! Your hostess, Jan, is
charming and helpful. What more could one ask?
