If you think you are just paying for a room, you might be disappointed. Somewhere else, you can probably find a bigger room than what you can get at Dar Jand, and maybe for a lower price. But at Dar Jand, you aren't just paying for the room; you are paying for the outstanding hospitality of Janet and Andrew. You are paying for a delicious, homemade breakfast; for an informal guided orientation of the Medina; for advice about what sites to see; for excellent restaurant advice; for access to a lovely rooftop terrace, etc. I can't say enough good things about how kind and welcoming Janet and Andrew were.
The house itself is beautiful, too, and if you end up staying in one of the small bedrooms like we did, know that there are plenty of other comfortable places to sit and relax. We peeked into one of the larger rooms, and it looked great as well.
If you can afford to stay at Dar Jand, it is absolutely worth the money.
