My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our 2 nights at Maison Arabesque - if you want an authentic Medina experience right in the heart of the hubbub centre - in a beautifully restored property this is ideal. Peter the owner was very welcoming with traditional tea and coffee served up on the roof and gave us great tips on where to eat and shop! Surprisingly quiet once inside the hotel so no fear of the noise outside - apart from the call to prayer at 5am but that's everywhere in Tangier :)

This is a true oasis of peace and tranquility in the centre of the bustling Medina. The cool interior is so welcoming after the heat of the crowds outside. I used the double room on the second floor with an en-suite shower room and the lovely terrace and I felt totally at home. Peter, your host, could not be more pleasant or more helpful, without being intrusive. We even managed to hire the services of a local chef and enjoyed a memorable meal served on the top terrace in candle light and moon light. I was in Tangier specifically to purchase items for a restaurant to be opened in Penang and I was able to conclude my business in a short three days! I will definitely return!

Room Tip: Although I loved my top suite the last few stairs are steep so beware if you are unsteady on your fe...

We were really impressed with how beautiful and relaxing this wonderful riad is! And Peter is an incredibly helpful, friendly host, always going out of his way to make us more comfortable, provide guidance, and give spot-on suggestions. This was the last place we stayed on our trip to Morocco and we would go back in a second. As we were traveling with our two girls, we stayed on the top floor, in the Sheltering Sky and Paul's Room, which basically gave us a private paradise of terraces, plants, and wonderful views of Tangier. Peter also provides the most delicious breakfast! I highly recommend staying at the Maison Arabesque.

My partner and I visited Peter and his lovely Maison Arabesque for two nights this week. The Maison is located inside the busy and crowded medina, but Peter will meet you in the easy-to-find Grand Socco, and escort you to his place. Once you are inside this beautifully renovated and restored house, it is calm and peaceful, and quite spacious. We stayed at the top of the stairs, at the rooftop level, in the Sheltering Sky room, which is airy, very comfortable, and quite romantic! Breakfasts, provided by Peter, are delicious, and can be served on the rooftop terrace or in your room. He is a friendly and very helpful host, and he can arrange for all manner of tourist services, if you have a need. This is a wonderful place to stay while you are visiting Tangier, and I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: The Sheltering Sky Room is upstairs at the rooftop level - it is airy, private, and very romantic!

We put in a trip to Tangier on our Spain/Portugal holiday and expected a noisy hot and stressful stay. When we arrived at Maison Arabesque in the heart of the medina, and found it such a beautiful place we were truly amazed, and decided to extend our stay. . The owner was a really nice host, the great breakfast was served on the most wonderful terrace. we would like to come back, and heartily recommend both Maison Arabesque, and Tangier with its winding streets and friendly people - and a hundred times less touristy than Spain.

My husband and I recently spent three nights at the charming Maison Arabesque, and it met all our expectations. Peter, the wonderful host, kept us well informed about all the necessary details well before our arrival in Tangier. He has transformed his riad into a lovely small hotel, paying great attention to detail and guest comfort. We stayed in the Sheltering Sky room on the top of the riad, and had the rooftop to ourselves. The night sky was gorgeous and we were even treated to a thunderstorm during our visit. Peter arranged a day tour for us with his friend, Ells, who is a professional guide. It was the highlight of our visit. Peter's charming puppy Coucou was an added treat. We highly recommend Maison Arabesque...you will not be disappointed.

Maison Arabesque is a perfect place to stay a few days if you want to taste the local atmosphere of Tangiers and don’t mind the noise of the souk. It is in the center of the medina and as Peter will be very helpful to meet you when you arrive, and bring you to his place, you will be part of the medina the day you arrive.
The rooms are all different, but beautifully decorated and designed. The delicious breakfast at te roof terrace is superb! His friend and guide Els gave us a very nice halfday tour and we had some other great excursions on our own . Peter gave us excellent service, hartelijk dank!
