“An excellent place in which to have a long lunch, and to watch the world go by”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

We stopped off here several times during our stay over the river in Sala, and enjoyed it each time. Our favourite light dish was the Crevettes Pil Pil, which I wish we could source in Britain, although it is probably quite easy to prepare.

The location of the Blue Berry is outstanding. It is set on the promenade along the southern bank of the Bou Regreg, with views across to Sala, the Atlantic, and the magnificent Rabat Kasbah.

I would particular encourage people to join the locals, and come on down on Sunday afternoons. Many of the women wear vibrantly coloured long coats and scarves, which often look stunning when in combinations, such as flaming orange, bright purple and turquoise.

“History, Old Medina, and Blue Berry”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

When in Rabat, Morocco last month, I run into a chain of restaurants called "Blue Berry" that offer a great variety of cuisines such as French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese and best of all, Eastern Cuisine. Among others, I visited two of these Blue Berry Restaurants in Rabat. One is located on the shore of the Bou Regreg river in front of the Marina, from where you can see the port of the city of Sale on the opposite shore where yacht and other small embarkations rest; and from where you can also see the magnificent walls and ramparts of the historic Oudays Castle of the Old Medina. The other restaurant is located in a commercial center in the city. Both places; although different, had their own style and extremely tasty and flavorsome food.

Although I ate a great variety of food in several visits, I always did it like a pig with a straight tail (those are the glutton pigs). It was not the simple carrying out of eating food, but it was the careful performance the Art of Eating; all of these while you are munching on mind-blowing luscious and delectable cupediae such as Salade d'avocat aux crevettes, filet d'espadon, penne arrabiata à la merguez, all accompanied by Morocain bread, and a delectable croissant aux amandes for dessert (also, the celebrated homemade Blue Berry ice cream is a must!); to name just a few of the toothsome acetabulas.

The prices were OK and comparable to the same echelon in Europe. The accommodations were very comfortable, the service were very good, fast and respectful; and the ambiance was serene and inviting. Vive la Baie Bleu! (My apologies, I do not speak French; I just crudely perpetrate it!)
