“Bad scene”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2010

My son and I went to the Kasbah in May. We took a taxi from our hotel. When I stepped out of the taxi I smelled something "dead" and looked down and I had almost stepped on a dead cat. We then crossed the street to go to the Kasbah and was immediately harassed by some man. We finally got rid of him and walked up several steps to enter into the main gate. When we got up to the main gate there were two men fighting and one of them had a rock in his hand getting ready to hit the other man. A policeman broke the fight up. My son and I then proceeded to walk into the Kasbah and we were then immediately harassed by some other man. WE LEFT...

“Lovely and interesting place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2010

The casbah is surrounded by a wall and percheed at the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean. You can wander the narrow roads of houses, whitewashed and blue on the bottom half. Very clean and neat. Good thing - for females travelling alone, I spent all day walking through the Casbash and bazars, and never felt uncomfortable or harassed. There is also a small museum in a building on the lower part in the gardens, old artifacts, worth thr 10 dirham entry.

“Enjoyable way to spend an hour. We didn't...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2010

Enjoyable way to spend an hour. We didn't see many tourists and enjoyed the river/ocean views once we found the lookout! Plenty of photo opportunities. Definitely stop and get some mint tea at the cafe! Ignore the 'guides' at the entrance one told us that the Kasbah was closing and we'd need a guide to get us through- they are persistent! No guide is necessay, but I guess there's no harm if you want one.

“Nice place for a stroll”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2009

The Kasbah des Oudaias is an old castle situated on the coast of Rabat, close to the old medina, and beach. Access is through one of two entrances, and from either you can wander through the streets, avoiding the groups of tourists, and exploring the place. Through the higher entrance you can find a few stalls offering the usual tourist stuff. If you go in through the lower entrance, you'll find the museum, garden, and the best part of the Kasbah - the cafe. This is a great place to sit, drink tea, and snack on the Moroccan pastries. Tea is 10 dirhams, and the pastries are 7-each. Well worth a look...

“Perfect place to stroll”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2009

This place is well worth one or two hours of strolling. You'll see nice architecture - blue and whitewashed, a bit Greek-like, nice vistas at a café overlooking the river (no food though) and Andalusian Garden, worth a quick stop for a moment of calm (well, relative calm. Can be flooded by tourists)

Th only minu is the harrassment at the entrance with fake guides that just wont let go. They even claim that they are working for the city and do it fo free (not truew). Of course, with a tip expectation
