“Chellah is a nice walk among the ruins of two civilizations.”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

While the Roman ruins are not spectacular, the setting is very, very nice. The mating cackling of the storks (in Spring) are worth the visit.

“Amazing ruins”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

Extensive ruins set on a hillside, families and groups of friends enjoying the walks through the grassy stone walls, a garden with fruit trees, a large colony of storks nesting on tops of pillars

“Chellah”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

The site has some interesting remains but their is almost no signage. Watching the storms adds a bit of nature to the visit. It is a very inexpensive petit taxi ride from the median but there were no taxis available when we were done with our visit

“A peaceful place”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

This is the quiet place, away from all the noises of the city. The ruins are mesmerizing, the visit is easy and although a bit short, very much worth it. The storks are everywhere and they're a fantastic addition to the sights and sounds. The site is extremely well-maintained and there's basically no reason not to go there.

“Rambling Ruins.”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

We enjoyed walking through these old Roman Ruins overlaid with Islamic flavour. More of a walk in a park than looking at old Roman Buildings. The enclosed gardens provide tranquil places to rest a while ( and we did) and the abundance of nesting storks in and among the ruins suggests a quiet and safe place for breeding. There are good panoramas from the high ground and living here could have been very nice.
The placement of this town makes you think back a few thousand years and wonder just how they went about their daily lives.
An enjoyable visit!
