This tower is one of the historical things to be seen in Rabat beautiful sigt an wonderful view I love the idea of the soldiers around the horse by the main entrance the masjid an it's actually where the old king was Burried , as you go inside its unbelievably beautiful how the building is made from the inside hand work it would take hundred of years to finish such building the weather wasn't the best it was really hot but I houldnt be complaining because it is mid July I recommend everyone visiting Rabat to take a visit here worth it

The tower is located within the same area as the Mausoleum. It is actually the previous sultan's dream of a huge mosque but it wasnt fulfilled cos he passed away. Good photo op as the unfinished columns add to the overall picture.

Check out the guardsmen on horses at the entrance. The horses are dressed in very intricate parade wear.

It is interesting to me that in such a poor country so much money is invested in building and maintaining religious symbolism. The story around this mosque is intriguing and as is usual the ceramics are breathtaking.

This site is very impressive, imagine how much more amazing it could have been if it had been completed.
Should not be missed.

I really enjoyed the tower and there was a guard who gave me a history lesson. Of course I never told him that I had been there before and had the Lonely Planet guidebook. It was clear that he took pride in his country and enjoyed talking to an American.
