“Beautiful and well located”
Reviewed January 10, 2012

We really enjoyed staying here. The rooms and and building are fantastic and the staff are really friendly. We were there for Christmas day so they cooked us a traditional moroccan dinner. The pigeon pastilla was one of the highlights of our trip. The Dar is really well located for non french/arabic speakers- especially if you are using 'Petit Taxis' to get home. Just ask for the Kasbah Oudaias and its round the corner. It got lots of great touristy things a short walk from the front door - Souks, beach, marina and Kasbah. There is a terrace that they could do more with. There are no nice views from the terrace but fine for a cigarette and reading your lonely planet.

Room Tip: rooms on first floor are brighter than the ground floor.

I booked this place on the internet since it had good reviews and the price was reasonable. I planned to stay for three nights but it turned out to be five in the end. For the latter two I got a nicer room at a lower rate, as I was told the difference was the commission of the booking agency. I had a room on the ground floor which is the cheaper ones. It was rather small in size and albeit it had a window to the outside rather dark. This is due to the nature of the building I believe. Like the whole house it was very nicely decorated with tiles and mosaics. Probably not the original décor as it looked rather new but colourful and beautiful nevertheless. The bathroom was reasonable, and absolutely spotless. The rooms are around an internal courtyard which in this house is roofed and a communal area with a radio, tables, couches and many plants. Breakfast was reasonable but not great. The landlady and the staff were very friendly and willing to help. There is WiFi in the communal area, which worked in my room as well. I don't think it is easy to beat the location. I did all the sightseeing on foot, for the embassies there was a 10 to 15 minutes taxi ride.

Dar Alia was comfortable and beautifully decorated. It is located in a great location to tour Robat. We particularly enjoyed the excitement of staying inside the medina. Nama was delightful and was the perfect hostess. During our two weeks in Morocco, we voted her breakfasts were the best .

Room Tip: we liked all the rooms we saw

We cannot compliment enough the manager and her assistant who went out of their way to help us find taxis and even accompanying us to restaurants by foot and also by taxi. They supply a nice basic breakfast but our ground floor room was tiny & the bathroom was so small there's hardly room for your feet while sitting on the toilet. The lighting makes it impossible to read - I had to turn the lamp sideways yet this room cost us nearly as much as a junior suite at the Delarosa Hotel in Marraakech.

The riad is really beautiful and the rooms are special, each one with different decorations.
The position is excellent, in the ancient medina and very closed to Kashbah des Oudaias.
The lady was very polite, and the breakfast was very good (the lady also pays a lot of attentions to your tastes! ;) )
Not the cheapest thing you could find, but complexively it's worth it.

Altogether it is very clean. The owner is very friendly. We were upgraded from a room downstairs to a room upstairs. However, the room we got was very small and the bathroom too. The room is very expensive for such a small size. The location is good and the mattress was very comfortable. Breakfast was oK. But I would try next time to find a cheaper one.

The hotel was decorated like a riad but is obvious has most of the decoration form recent years no original features of the riads seen. The rooms are small but clean. we only stayed for a night therefore could cope with the small room size longer stay will be uncomfortable as no space for bags. Riad is in medina which is nice to walk around even at night. no terrace on second thoughts would have been better of staying at a hotel in Rabat
