Another riad of Moroccan experience owned by a French person... But of course that the locals will clean, cook and do all the work...

The owner tried to push us to buy from his friends tourist shop, telling us that they usually charge the "regular" tourists 4 times as much or that it's only a 200 Euro different...
1. I don't want to buy from people who cheat other tourists
2. Go to the Medinas or the countryside and see how much difference can 200 Euros made to a Moroccan family.

The rooms are nice, but they better be for the price you pay.

The riad is perfectly located overlooking the main square with a view of the arched gate from the rooftop terrace. Lionel and his family are warm and welcoming, with plenty of tips and ideas on everything from pastry shops to daytrips. Highly recommend having a meal cooked inhouse, either on the terrace or the dining room - delicious tagine and outstanding Moroccan salads. Their recommendations for dinners out were also terrific, our meal with a Moroccan family was the best bstilla we had in the country! Once inside the riad, the lovely restoration gives you a perfect flavour of the luxury and comfort of the original mansion. Roomy and comfortable, we would definitely stay again and recommend to others!

Lionel responded promptly to emails and met us as arranged in the Square. We were greeted with tea, cakes and strawberries served on the roof terrace overlooking the medina. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly and the food was really fantastic - we wished we´d eaten in more often.
Couldn´t speak highly enough of everything, highly recommended.

Fellousia is by far too expensive. Look at riad Yacout at Place Lalla Aouda just behind Bab Mansour. I ask for a room by internet for € 60.- The answer was: "Unfortunately we only have one Suite left at those dates and it is not the one at 60 Euros." When we were visiting the riad we were the only guests! This is not what we call serious!

We stayed for 3 nights at the Riad Felloussia in March 2009.
The staff are marvellous. On arrival, Nadia sat us down, brought us tea, then showed us the house. This was in stark contrast to the other riad where we stayed during our trip to Morocco - the Riad Dar Aida in Rabat - where the owner didn't even bother to introduce herself until we asked who she was!
The Riad Felloussia has another great secret: Zohra the cook. Get her to make you a beef and prune tagine. It is absolutely delicious.
On the recommendation of all the guide books, we tried the Riad Restaurant in Meknes one night. It gets rave reviews, but compared to Zohra's cooking, it didn't even come close.
Thank you Nadia and Zohra!
