“Only if you are in the area”

While there are some beautiful elements to the gate, marble columns from Volubilis and zellij tiles, this landmark is something to see only in you are in the area.

“A really big gate”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2013

This is a gate, a very big gate, it is pretty and nice to look at. If you really like gates you will enjoy this gate. Not as excited as some of the other reviewers. We were in Meknes and we saw the gate, it is beautiful and imposing, but was not open. Dont go to Meknes for the gate, it was only after I went to write a review I found out about it being the biggest in Morocco, and it didnt change my opinion on the gate. Just to clarify I dont usually use the word gate this often.

“The largest gate in the city, Take 5 minutes for taking photos”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2013

It's a beautiful gate, accross to El Hedim Square. The largest gate in the city (maybe even in the country). There are not so many things that can be done. You just can spend 10 minutes for taking some beautiful photos. Or when you're passing to El hedim Square, stop there for 5 - 10 minutes to enjoy its beauty,

“another gate: the city's largest”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

it opens onto the main square, and you enter the area from the mausoleum and prison if you can pass through it. sometimes it is closed. when i was there, the gate opener was having breakfast! in any case, you can access the interesting sites by any of a number of other accesses.

“Must see in Meknes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

Located in the old town, it is definately worth a look. The imposing structure has intricate inscriptions located in l'Hadime area. The area around the gate is also very interesting. The gate located across the old Medina where lots of traditional Moroccan craft is available.
