Come here for the food, not the service.

This was the best meal I had during my 3 weeks in Morocco. We ordered the couscous with seven vegetables and the pastilla; I would recommend both.

For dessert, we had Moroccan cookies. Those, I would skip.

Considering how the restaurant was listed in two of our three guidebooks, we expected it to be a lot busier. But the restaurant (which seemed to be located in the back of someone's home) was empty when we walked in.

Do make sure you're not already hungry when you go, as you will be waiting a while before you get served.

You should have enough time to visit this restaurant because your order doesn't come so quickly. But it is really worthful to wait. A Moroccan mother cooks all by her hand. Everything is cooked freshly, slowly... and tasty! Couscous is super!!!

It is so ironic that this restaurant is named 1001 nights,or the story in which the beautiful Scherezade entertained her bored king for 1001 nights to avoid getting executed. I am writing this review more because I feel sorry for the owners rather than being angry. Facts: 55 minutes for a bottle of water to arrive at the table, 65 minutes for some bread to be brought to the table and only after asking twice, 85 minutes for the soup to arrive and almost two hours for the main courses. Yes the food was home-cooked and in generous portions, but the family has to clearly devise ways to keep their guests from growling with hunger and reduce the times to serving food in the very cold room (space heaters do not suffice). It was quite chaotic with crying children and the teenager who acted as the server was overwhelmed, running between tables. What was even more frustrating that one of the guests who had arrived after us (so had to wait even longer) tried to divert his own hunger by playing on a set of bongos in a rather irritating manner, which made our dining experience even worse! Shame on Frommer's Guide on Morrocco for providing inaccurate information about this restaurant as well as many many factual errors that indicate that their latest edition has not be updated in the slightest
