“paradise- my favorite place in maroc”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

We stayed for two nights, in the "red room." The Riad is gorgeous-- beautiful courtyard, delightfully refinished, relaxing rooftop with a decent sized splash pool for those hot moroccan days. The women who run this place are charming and helpful, and just really great. Breakfast was very good (standard moroccan breakfast fare, but prepared really well). Red room was very nicely sized for two people. Bedding could have been a bit more comfortable. Overall an excellent place to relax for a few days and a good home base for visiting Volubillis and the quaint city of Meknes.

Beautiful 200 year old riad restored lovingly. The room although without aircon was comfortable. The ambience is a perfect hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the medina. Stepping inside the riad's door, we were transported instantly to a place of calm and relaxation. Amina and the staff were very hospitable and welcoming even allowing me to cook some vegies in their kitchen and in the process having me watch them prepare the evening meal. The dinner was fantastic and one of the best food that we had in Morocco. Even the cat Mimi was welcoming. The terrace and the plunge pool was a bonus as well. We will definitely stay in this riad again when we come back.

we spent one night here and wish we had stayed longer. the rooms were charming, the staff were very helpful and friendly, and the pool on the roof was heavenly after a hot day getting lost in the medina. We ate dinner at the riad and it turned out to be the best option for food.

We booked one night in the White Suite of this Riad. Compared to our previous Riad in Rabat, the style of this Riad is much more traditional, but perfectly renovated. You canno't guess this Riad exists from the Streets of the Medina.

We really enjoyed our stay in this Riad:
- The Riad is perfectly renovated. Rooms are really clean, although a bit dark.
- The Terrace is lovely, Swimming pool is available.
- Possibility to have dinner at the Riad which is quite usefull when you stay a very shirt time in Meknes.
- Breakfast was good too, and we had way enough to eat.
- Service was perfect and evryone willing to help and recommend some activities.

Overall we really enjoyed this Riad, and we would recommend It without a doubt. Maybe few things can be improved (Rooms being a bit hot without air con, Riad not too easy to find out when arriving in Meknes) but overall It was a really good experience.

At Riad El Ma we enjoyed the excellent food, friendly and helpful staff, and convenient location. On our wonderful tour of Morocco with WWW.Moroccooverland.com a wonderful place to stay in such a fascinating and vibrant city! Riad El Ma is a beautifully restored house in the heart of the Medina meknas walled city. I am sure there are a few others like it, but I doubt any of them achieve such a calm tranquility as this one.

We had such a lovely time, and so much of this was due to the kindness and friendliness of the staff and this delightful Riad,We had a lovely evening meal in the Riad on the first night and then took a long walk into the heart of the Medina to explore this amazing city, before returning to sit out on the roof terrace under the moon and stars.

We would happily recommend this Riad However, for me, it's the people who made this place also so special . . . I'll always remember them . . . and, if I'm ever lucky enough to visit Morocco again I would definitely return to Riad EL Ma.

again thanks Brahim from Morocco overland for an excellent journey in Morocco

We spent 3 nights in this heavenly riad, from the minute we entered it was just wonderful.
our room - The White Suite was large and tranquil.good size bathroom with excellent shower.
Bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts were traditionally moroccoan, pancakes, freshly baked bread, fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, ect, and the evening meal was great, again plentiful and traditional food. There was a wonderful roof terrace with the added bonus of a small pool, very welcoming after a hot day in the medina. The two Amina's Aunt and neice were just the perfect hosts. Little Amina could not have done enough for us, she really made our stay at the Riad complete. would not hesitate to stay again if we were ever that way, This has to be the best place to stay in Meknes.

Room Tip: You will not go wrong with the white room

This Riad has four or five rooms, and feels like home. Better than home. The rooms are in good shape, and quite clean. Take a couple of flights of stairs up to the roof terrace, take a dip in the small pool and enjoy the view.

Amina and her niece little Amina are what really make this place special; charming, interested, friendly and helpful. wow.

Amina is an excellent cook. As a matter of fact, two people in the Medina told us unprompted that she is the best cook in Meknes. Therefore we both ate here and took cooking lessons from her. The cooking lessons consisted of helping prepare the evening meal in their kitchen. It was lots of fun and delicious.

Amina's cat Mimi is close to having kittens and provides cuddly entertainment in the central patio/dining area.

The staff are more than trustworthy, they feel like family. If you want to lock your room anyway, use the padlock; they can't open it either.

If you are looking for a place to stay that will make you happy, this is it.
