“Fantastic stay”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

I stayed at Riad Shaden in May 2014 as part of my adventure to Morocco and Spain. They were wonderful every step of the way - from confirming the booking, to the airport pickup (which took way longer than expected because my luggage was lost), to arranging a return trip to and back from the airport to get my luggage once it did arrive. the room itself was gorgeous - I booked the Amir Suite, which is shown in many of their online marketing. I recommend without hesitation and hope to be back one day!

A really nice place to stay inside the Medina in Marracech and a short way to the Jemaa el Fna. Soo nice staff, Said and the two ladies cleaning and cooking most polite, helpful and making the stay a really nice experience. The Amir suite was a good room to sleep, and the riad is charming in every way.

This Riad is an oasis in a wonderful city. The house is beautiful and comfortable. AC in the bedroom was very welcome. The rooftop terrace was a fantastic way to end the day. Breakfast was lovely, served in the court yard. The freshly squeezed orange juice was the best I have had anywhere. Riad Shaden has so many positive points I could not name them all but the best asset has to be the people who work there. We were welcomed and made to feel at home in an extremely professional and friendly way, that can be difficult to achieve but the people here manage it wonderfully. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.. It would suit family, couple or single traveller equally.

My partner and I recently stayed in Riad Shaden as part of our trip to Morrocco. The Riad is beautiful with excellent staff and fabulous service.

They also offer a range of trips in to the desert, taxis to and from the airport or help and advice on places to eat, where to buy things - making life so much easier when you are not up for haggling.

Will be recommending it to everyone I know.

Before arriving at Riad Shaden the welcome at the airport from Abdul who drove us there was great. It totally makes sense to arrange the airport transfer through the Riad.
On arrival Youssef was there to greet at us at the gate and accompanied us to the Riad. Riad Shaden was gorgeous. All the public space was very comfortable and well decorated. It was great to have the space on the roof either to lounge or get some shade. Both Youssef and Said provided a very warm welcome.
Our room was very beautiful and the en suite well looked after. Even though the room was situated over the alleyway there was very little noise and did not prevent me having a very restful sleep.
The girls, Saadia and Saana, keep the place very clean. They also provide cookery lessons which were great fun and very informative. And then you get to eat the food you prepared. It was great!
The Riad can organise a range of trips and they all look very worthwhile. We went on an overnight trip and visited a couple of the kasbahs where a number of films, including Gladiator were filmed. Abdul was a very good and informative tour guide. Youssef also accompanied us and was a very good companion. He even arranged for us to stop and play billiards.
The Riad is well located to walk to the square and visit the souks, find great eating spots and enjoy some culture - the palaces, garden and museums.
It was an amazing experience and made all the better by everyone at Riad Shaden making me feel so welcome.

Have just returned from a 5 night stay at Riad Shaden and would highly recommend
anyone looking to stay in Marrakech to book. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome, we booked a transfer through the hotel to pick us up from the airport which I would highly recommend doing, we were met by hotel staff at the drop off point (cars can't enter the Medina) and were taken on the shirt walk to the Riad. Doing things this way means you pay the right fare and don't end up being overcharged or having to haggle when you have only just arrived. Once at the Riad we were offered a really comfy seat in the beautiful internal court yard and an amazing cup of mint tea poured in the traditional way. The best arrival I have ever had upon arrival, made both my wife and I feel so relaxed and welcome. The great service and warm welcome continued throughout our whole stay, every morning and every time
we returned to the Riad we were greeted with the same welcoming smiles and warm greetings. The general atmosphere is very relaxed and makes for a relaxing haven away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. I have stayed in some very expensive 5 star hotels and not got service as good as this, Sayed and Youseff would not be out if place in the Hilton.

Most evenings we eat at local restaurants, which is great to do but if you stay make sure you have at least one meal in as the food in the hotel was amazing and served in a really nice setting.

If you fancy an afternoon in the sun then the roof terrace is a great place to get some rays or relax and have early evening coffee in the very comfortable seating area.

The hotel is located on the edge if the Medina and it's only a 10 min walk to the central square or many restaurants, it does get very hectic in the streets if the medina and can be a little overwhelming at first, but it is very safe, I noticed another review stated that you 'could not go out after dark' this is nonsense. The medina is very busy but it is safe to walk around in. Just be a little careful of locals offering to direct you as they like to take you the long route around and then ask for money for the privilege. But if you don't want to walk, shaden is very close to the Madina gate where you can easily get a cab.
Just make sure you get them to turn the metre on as otherwise they will try to over charge you.

The room we had in Riad Shaden was amazing, comfortable bed and amazing ceiling and wall decoration.

I can highly recommend a stay, the Riad is lovely, the rooms great and the staff really do go the extra mile to make your stay that bit better.

Thank you to all the staff and management
