“Very good atmosphere and food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

Very good atmosphere and food. Nice place, very central. Ask for a table very close to the window. Live music was perfect but I didn't like so much the dance, because it wasn't done with live music but with cd. Food very good. Romantic and thypical.

“Get the leg of lamb to share!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

You must get a reservation as this is just off the main square, but it is worth it.

As we walked in we saw a leg of lamb - we would never have have ordered it - just gone for the usual tagine, but it was AMAZING!

“Reasonable Food at a Price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Enjoying a prime position on the corner of rue des Banques directly overlooking the square, the owners must think that its position justifies the overcrowded table layout, with pricing to match. We waited in the foyer for 15 minutes till a table became vacant. Our waiter was friendly whilst he took our order, then disappeared into a black hole for the next 30 minutes. Granted the restaurant was full, but a friendly, it won't be too long till you get your food, would have gone a long way to appeasing the wait. The food when it came was good. Lamb and Prune tagine with loads of Semole as they call plain couscous and all piping hot. Really loud music accompanied the belly dancers, who performed in between the crowded tables, encouraging diners to join them in their dance routine. Have no doubt that the cost for this performance was built into all meals as with 1 course and a beer and a coke it was well over £20 per person. Not terribly good value for money and obviously trading on their prominent location. Yet again, there is a plethora of far better restaurants for similar cost or slightly more, for the visiting tourist to have to accept this level of price and service. Would not recommend.

“Friendly service but cramped seating”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

The staff were friendly and the meal good but we felt that too many customers were seated too closely together so we could not really have a private conversation and were subjected the conversations next to us!

“Fun dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Delicious chicken pastilla starter!! Lamb and fig tagine very sumptuous - falling apart, no need for a knife. Good Moroccan wine and belly dancer show at the end. Expensive, but good fun and delicious food. According to our source at the riad, it is the only restaurant on the square that serves alcohol.
