Had a very nice experience. The cooking class was well organized. Staff very helpful. Cant find anything wrong with the cooking class, or the delicious results.

Two nitpik issues I would suggest could be changed...
1. After paying 350 for the cooking class, I dont understand why they would offer a juice based drink with the meal for an extra 10 dirham. I know this is a non-profit place that does good things - but still, this was an unnecessary charge.
2. The cooking school is not centrally located. They would not order a taxi for us when we were done, and suggested we walk about half a kilometer to an intersection to get a taxi on the street. They said that have had issues ordering taxis for clients. Still seems to be a short sighted position. They know they have a class everyday. It would be easy to find a service or a few drivers who want to pick up people daily at the same time every day.

Nonetheless - was a very nice experience and worthwhile time spent.

Great experience - super choice of food to cook. Great communication via email and the centre and the ladies were very welcoming. We enjoyed the food preparation and the tea ceremony. It was fascinating to cook a tagine over a coal brasier and learn how the temperatures are adjusted and the tagine pot is used. The story of this women's centre and what it offers is fascinating and we are glad to have contributed in a small way to its work. This sets this experience apart from a commercial cookery class - please do go & support their wonderful work.

I attended a cooking class in December, and it was one of my favourite things I did in Morocco. The ladies were so warm and helpful. Doha answered all our questions and translated the class. I made a chicken tagine and it was delicious, the best I ate in Morocco. The grounds of the Amal are really lovely and relaxing too. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Marrakech, even those with little cooking experience can really enjoy it. Thank you all.

My boyfriend and I went together to do this cooking class and we are so glad we did! The cooking was amazing but learning about the women’s center and the good work that they did there warmed our hearts! The cooks speak a little English but Doha translated everything perfectly so we could hear their voices directly from them! Doha was amazing and answered all of our questions not just about the center but about Moroccan culture so Eloquently. The women there have such a close knit community and we felt so blessed to be included. This was a breathe of calm in Marrakech. We found ourselves not wanting to leave.
The food was absolutely amazing also and we left with the confidence to do it ourselves at home even without all of the equipment!
We highly highly recommend this class for cooking but also for the heart!
Thank you so much to all the cooks and Doha!

Might be a bit more expensive that the usual (local) food and a bit far from the center, but it's totally worth it! I love this kind of initiatives and you can really see it's not fake, from all the women working there! Price is also very fair for what you get (huge and super delicious portions!). Recommended to make reservation as the place fill up quite quickly! Next time I'm in Marrakesh, I'll eat here again for sure!
