“Lovely Restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2010

Lovely restaurant we've tried to eat at during our previous stays in Marrakech but have always been full and not been able to get a table. The night we went was also very busy and although we had pre booked ended up with a tiny table for 2 by the serverery which we weren't happy with, and so asked if we could be moved, which we eventually were after a little fuss. When you book your table ask to be seated in one of the booths!

Lovely service, lovely authentic cuisine, very popular! There's a nice coffee shop round the corner from the restaurant we went to and watched the world go by on the main road, before we went to the restaurant which is well worth a visit too!

“lovely place to eat and be seen”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2010

on recommendations of local friends we ordered the specialty of the house : lamb shoulder in spices with almonds for 2, served wth light and heavenly couscous semolina and vegetables. no appetizer were necessary since this is a very satisfying serving. My companion and homemade ice cream on light pastry and I had a large, enough for our table of 4, galette sprinkled with almonds, served with a ladle of milk.
The crowd is young, dress to kill, beautiful people
the restaurant is run by women only and I would love the recipe for that lamb dish to cook it at home, for women only, of course. It is rather pricy but it is a great evening to splurge (our last night in Marrakech) reservation is a must

“Good restaurant but not outstanding food wise!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2010

Booked this place as sounds fab, but thought the food was just ok. Maybe it's great as it's the best Marrakesh has to offer but we were not blown away. Our companions ordered the lamb shoulder which was really nice (8 out of 10), but our chicken tagines were simply average. I had thechicken tagine one with pumpkin, but the pumpkin was more like a spoonful of pumpkin jam on top. Puds were quite good, but I just don't see why people love this place so much. It reminded me of a good indian restaurant in the UK in terms of the decor, music and service. Staff were outstandly good!

“Kept the best till last”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2010

This was the last restaurant we ate at during our week-long stay in Marrakech and it was by far and away the best. It feels like a "real" restaurant rather than a tourist trap. Although most of the diners were foreigners, there were also several (well-heeled, it has to be said) Moroccans. The speciality of the house is the shoulder of lamb, which is so soft one local we spoke to likened it to ice cream. The flavours are delicious, as are the petites salades to start. It is absolutely essential to book, as we saw several people being turned away.

Our bill for two, with wine, was 770 dirhams.

Don't miss.

“Best place for genuine Moroccan food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2010

This place did not disappoint. Please make sure you go! Lovely ambience, amazing food, large portions ( we made the mistake of ordering a dessert each!) Book in advance. When we were there it was closed Mondays and Tuesdays and we were gutted as no other restaurant serving Moroccan food came close to Al Fassia.
