“Fabulous hotel in Fabulous location”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

Absolute gem of a hotel with personal service from all staff at all times. We were made to feel very welcome indeed and were upgraded on arrival to a superior room which was fabulous. The hotel food is superb and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel spa treatment was excellent as was the cookery school which my husband attended one morning. The hotel is a 2 min stroll to the main square and in a perfect location for all sights. We would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone.

I don't normally write reviews straight away but I feel compelled to after the amazing morning/afternoon we spent here. We are staying in Marrakech for a week and asked our Riad if they had some things they would recommend doing. Along with some touristy stuff the advised that we take a cooking class. Le Riad Moneceau is located near the central market down a very narrow alley way, but once you get inside the space is huge. To cut a long story short there were 8 of us (my friend and I and a group of 6 girls) we had a choice of making chicken or lamb tagine nd 2 starters. This was under the supervision of the head chef, who happens to be a local celebrity. We went through everything from how to prepare the meat, add spices and when to check the tagine. After we had prepped, got to know the group and put he food on the heat we were guided to a private dining room where we were served our food. We also had a choice of wine and soft drinks. The price for this was 450 Dirham, so about £40 and it started at 1030 and finished at 3. This was a great way to spend an afternoon and get out of the sun. This is great as a couples treat, friends or vn on your own. I would highly recommend and will definitely be doing this again. Happy travels :)

No real hesitation upon booking as our best friends who are frequent travelers to Marrakesh had strongly recommended this hotel. Much more than a hotel actually : a beautiful home away from home ! Loved every single moment of our (too) short stay. Beautiful house, perfect location and ... great people. Looking for a gorgeous small boutique hotel in old Marrakesh ? Don’t look any further !!!! This is it.

Riad Monceau deserves all the praise it received from its guests. It is a lovely, romantic boutique hotel in the heart of Marrakech. Due its small size, the warm welcome and helpful staff, the beautiful patio and the fantastic terraces, one feels immediately at home ; and what a home !! Our room was rather spacious, very well equipped and furnished and had a very comfortable king size bed. I noticed that all reviews on TripAdvisor as well as on Expedia rate Riad Monceau as excellent or very good. That is truely exceptional, since almost all hotels with high rankings show some reviews which rate them average and even terrible. Riad Monceau has avoided that by only selecting staff members who are extraordinarily friendly and helpful in a personal, warm way. The perfect location just off the main square is also a huge bonus.
Tip : Riad Monceau’s onsite restaurant is also a gem. It was a surprise to us but once there we discovered this fantastic little hotel was also a top rated Moroccan gourmet restaurant. The 2 dinners we had there were absolutely amazing.

This has been the treasure of Marrakech with the best service, staff, meals and most of all location. Right off the square and hotel offers free wifi and great complimentary breakfast, with fresh juice, coffee and baked goods. I highly recommend this hotel in everyway. My standards are very high when it comes to service and I was overly pleased with all this hotel offered. Do take a cooking class with the famous chef and ask about the excursions that they do offer and do trip to Essaouira, which was beyond and deserves a full day or two to soak in the beauty of the city.

Room Tip: All rooms are unique and just as beautiful as the other, there is no right or wrong with what you do...

I met my husband in Morocco as part of my R&R from Afghanistan. We didn't know what to expect from staying as at Riad especially as we were escorted down the narrow streets but were so taken by the beauty and tranquility of the hotel and our room. After the chaos of being in Marrakech during the day we were able to unwind by the pool and have wonderful romantic dinners again, by the pool. It was very private and the staff were amazing and very friendly. There were only 2 minor issues - one is that they were unable to exchange American money only Euros and the other was that there was no one at the desk the morning we checked out and someone had to be called in. Other than that our stay was flawless, we were steps away from the el Fna Square, the meals were haute cuisine and we have already passed on the details to friends for their upcoming R&R's. Memorable.

Room Tip: There are only 7 rooms and they all surround the pool. There is also a rooftop area where you can c...

My wife and I arrived about midday and were greeted with a plate of small cakes with mint tea and made to feel very welcomed.
We found the room and retaurant area very clean and well maintained

The Riad is so quiet inside, such a different world from all the hustle and bustle outside.
The location is 2-3mins from Djemaa el-Fna square which is so exciting to visit especially at night or just have a drink in an outside bar watching the jugglers, acrobats, snake charmers etc etc. Never a dull moment.

The staff we met are very helpful, polite and friendly and a credit to the Riads owner a French lady called Isobel.
We could easily recommend this Riad to friends.
