Just returned from a 4 night stay at Les Clos des Arts. Faultless attention to detail, a fabulous room and excellent food, all in a perfect location. Hosts Massimo, Giorgina and their staff all did their utmost to ensure we made the most of our stay. Will definitely stay here should we return to Marrakech in the future!

We have just returned from 4 nights in Marrakech, staying at le Clos des Arts. It was our first trip to Marrakech and we were a little apprehensive about the city's lively reputation. We needn't have worried. The lovely owners Massimo and Giorgina were wonderful hosts. Massimo personally met us from the taxi but also made sure that we knew the route to the riad for the rest of our visit. That level of care continued throughout our stay, with recommendations on restaurants and places to visit, local advice, taxi bookings etc. The riad had a friendly family atmosphere for both guests and staff.
We're really glad we opted to stay in a riad instead of one of the hotels outside the Medina. The riad design is incredibly tranquil and also quiet at night, yet you're right in the middle of the bustling city - the best of both worlds! When we visit Marrakech again, we'll certainly stay at le Clos des Arts.

Room Tip: We stayed in Amethyst, which was traditionally decorated and spacious

We stayed three nights in the Citrine room and then returned for two nights in the Amethyste room. The entire riad is wonderful and Georgina and Massimo couldn't be more lovely and helpful and knowledgeable. Natural hosts! I particularly loved the Amethyste room, its size, lovely colors--everything. Massimo's careful instructions about getting about in Marrakech were wonderful, and all recommendations were spot on. Georgina even arranged for a car to take us several hours south to Tourandant--the driver was very good and the ride was a fine way to see some country. We had two dinners at the riad which were very good (one, the keftes (?)tagine, was really terrific) and breakfasts were lovely. The staff are great as well. Really a very special lovely place. Already planning a second Morocco journey and will return here.

we stayed here for four nights at the start of a trip around Morroco, staying in 5 hotels in total. Other reviews explain why this hotel is special much more eloquently than I ever could. All I can say is that the rooms are very good, the food and service is excellent and the location is ideal. If you are going to Marrakech you really should try the Riad experience, and this one must be as good as any. the hotel arranged a guide for us for half a day - by no means essential but his enthusiam and knowledge made it well worth it in our opinion.

I have just arrived back from a 4 night stay with my family and felt compelled to write this review up straight away!
We had a wonderful time in Marrakech, but I can generally say that the trip was made even better because of this riad, Massimo and Georgina. The riad itself is beautiful through out, lovely rooms, courtyard, pool, bathrooms etc. But what really stands out is the care and attention that we were given from Massimo and Georgina (and staff). They helped us book restaurants, trips, made a beautiful meal one evening, and amazing breakfast every morning on the roof. They are generally lovely and very interesting people (Massimo was especially lovely with my daughter! - thank you Massimo).
I have been to Marrakech before and stayed in a riad, but the whole experience was nothing like this. If you are looking for a perfect location, lovely food, beautiful riad and 5 star care, look no further. I also think its a bargain!
Well done and I hope to visit again one day very soon! :-)

Room Tip: They are all beautiful!!

From the moment Massimo met us at the car park, both my wife and I knew that there was going to be the sort of attention to detail that separates good hotels from great ones. Both Massimo and Giorgina were the loveliest hosts and really made us feel very welcome - not only providing food and arranging services such as cookery classes and stays at Hammams, but also with a level of considerable expertise with regard to all the various aspects of the Medina - from areas to avoid to places to see.

The Riad itself was beautiful - a lovely mix of modern and classical. The linen in particular so enchanted my wife that she got the name and number of the manufacturer in Casablanca. Our breakfasts on the roof in the morning were the perfect start to the day and when returning to the Riad we always felt wonderfully relaxed - especially as Marrakech can be quite an exhausting place to visit. The service was never less than impeccable - polite but never intrusive at any point. For a place that marries genuine local knowledge and a superior level of refined hospitality, this is as good as it gets.

This Riad was the highlight of our trip to Marrakech, not just the beauty of the rooms and building (not to mention Massimo having the most incredible office there ever was!), but the service, friendliness, relaxed atmosphere and invaluable advice.

Our driver was waiting for us at the airport so we had a seamless transition to the car park where Massimo met us. Being our first trip to Morrocco, my partner and I were a little apprehensive, especially after the transfer and seeing the mental driving of the locals (not our driver) and the hustle and bustle on the streets, but Massimo relaxed us immediately as he greeted us and straight away started to share his advice and knowledge to us. Leading us to the Riad he showed us points of reference which proved to be invaluable and ensured we never got lost coming home....even after several cocktails at the Mamounia!

Upon entering the Riad, the first thing that hits you is the decadent smell of jasmine, absolutely beautiful, its fairly dark in the hall with little candles and has a mysterious air... brilliant. We then preceded to sit in the courtyard with lovely mint tea and sweet treats. Massimo, took us through a map of Marrakech and gave fantastic practical and very useful advice on the areas and sights. He also talked to us about the culture and etiquette and how to handle certain situations...again invaluable and we really believe that this enhanced our trip massively as we felt comfortable and were able to communicate effectively with locals etc.

The rooms....absolutely stunning. We had amethyst for 2 nights which was incredible and rubis for 1 night. Unfortunately amethyst was not available for the entirety of our stay as we were a little late with booking, but the transition between rooms was made very easy for us and we didn't have to lift a finger. The rooms were both ridiculously beautiful, the furniture, décor, cleanliness.

Breakfast was either served downstairs or on the rooftop terrace which was super. Fresh fruit, beautiful coconut yoghurt, a variety of pastries/cakes, juice, coffee and tea, all scrumptious. One morning we slept in until late, past the normal breakfast time, when we did eventually emerge from our slumber, Massimo noticed we hadn't been in breakfast and arranged for us to have a late breakfast on the rooftop terrace.... amazing.

We were also invited to keep our room for the entire day of our check out as we had a late flight, and Massimo kindly arranged for a 'snack' to be prepared for us to have before we left for the airport. This was served on the roof terrace and was a delicious array of Moroccan treats....'snack' doesn't even come close.

Massimo also arranged a hamman spa for us which was a lovely experience and I would highly recommend as well as advising us of a nightclub to try where we had the best night ever.

A few things really stood out for me, the staff were really accommodating, even when we rocked in at 3am, always a smile and a welcoming greeting. Either Massimo or one of the staff was also around when we arrived back in the riad, and it was nice to come 'home' to such a friendly place where people genuinely seemed pleased to see you. The way that Massimo communicated with his staff was so lovely, the courtyard is quite echoey, so they do little bird whistles to get attention .....superb! There are no locks to the rooms and the doors are left open and you have no key to the riad, you knock on the door or ring the bell. There is a safe in the room, but really its so relaxed and homely, it felt perfectly normal and comfortable. Such a lovely change from non descript chain hotels with electronic key cards!!! It really did feel like home.

In summery, fabulous location being a few minutes walk from the square, stunning Riad and most importantly the service and staff made this trip one of the best holidays ever. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this Riad, in fact I don't think I could stay anywhere else now.

Marrakech is a great city, absolutely breath taking. Couple of recommendations, if you are looking for a rooftop hideaway with good food and BEER then head to Dar Nejjarine. A local chap will walk you there for a euro or few dirham. Don't be scared when you go off the beaten track a bit. This became our favourite bar....its beautiful, has a great ambience and most importantly, serves alcohol!

Massimo recommended Palais Jad Mahal which was a great night club, we danced, drank, saw belly dancing, this was the best night of our trip.

Massimo, thank you so much, you really are a legend!! We look forward to staying with you again in the future.... if you will have us! Charlotte and Matt xxx
