I have written below a warning about our arrival in Marrakech. I have put it below as I don't want this to reflect on the Riad Limouna,
So, the Riad is down a very unassuming side street off a small square.we were welcomed by the hosts who made us tea as we arrived. We were taken to our room where we dropped our stuff and was shown into Marrakesh so we would not get lost.
We ate dinner at the Riad that night and were treated to a sardine tagine. I discovered that they used to run a restaurant in castelnaudry during my trip to domaine las Castaneda in France, and their food was just as excellent as I remembered! What a treat and a real coincidence!
they arranged a taxi to take us to oasiria waterpark (despite its bad reviews it was somewhere cool!) and a taxi to take us to back to the airport.
We followed their recommendation and visited the photographic museum (views and food was great, and the photos were interesting and worth the visit) and experienced street food also on recommendation.
The room was lovely, the Riad was beautiful, the terrace was fantastic, the plunge pool was cool and the service fantastic. Also it was inexpensive and it was friendly. It was a real oasis from the madness if the souks!
Certainly recommend to anyone!
OUR ARRIVAL IN MARRAKESH (NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RIAD LIMOUNA!).... When we arrived in Marrakech we were dropped near a petite taxi line. The guidebook states that before you get in any taxi in the cities you need to agree a price. Follow this advice! We jumped into a taxi that just pulled up, explained to the driver where we wanted to go. He then mentioned something about a 'tour'.... Despite our protests he then starts driving all over ... The tour included the local police station, a housing estate.... You get the picture! He then tried to charge us £50 for the pleasure. After a few heated words, involvement of the locals and a threat of calling the police, we paid the driver a reduced £20 and learnt our lesson. It was a horrid experience and one we would not want anyone else to go through!
