“Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

Riad Al Massarah is almost too perfect. We didn’t want to leave and explore in the incredible city of Marrakech. Michael and Michel have created such a serene, oasis of tranquility that you could easily stay there and never leave. From the moment you wake up to the sound of your breakfast table being set-up right outside your room, to lounging on the roof top terrace, to visiting their own private Hammam, you could easily make a vacation at al Massarah.

Tucked away in the bustling medina this Riad is beautiful, serene and runs quietly like clockwork. It's situated in a local area that is, at the moment, largely untouched by tourism. What really made it great for us were the people ... Michael and Michel are the perfect hosts. David made our stay particularly special from the start by meeting us from our transfer and guiding us through the local souk to the Riad, which we would not have found on our own! The advice, above and beyond what you would get from any guide book, set us up for our exotic adventure and we really couldn't imagine the experience without this! What we Loved? The rose petals on the bathroom floor, the fact that you don't need to lock your room doors, the free wifi, fabulous breakfasts and the sound of the early morning call to prayer alarm clock x

Both David and Michel were very warm and helpful from informative emails, pick ups, tips, etc. The riad is beautiful and was our awaited haven after bustling days in Marrakech. Very clean and tidy, lovely staff, and great breakfast. A staff member, Abdulsalam, was absoloutely wonderful and made us feel right at home. This place was one of the highlights of our trip!

On our first visit to Marrakech, Riad Al Massarah was a perfect choice. Smack in the middle of the city and an easy walk everywhere (even in the heat), the riad is an oasis in bustling Marrakech. Michael and Michel are excellent hosts, as is the rest of the staff. Cannot say enough about this wonderful place.

It was an incredible experience to stay at this riad. Before the trip, Michael and Michel sent very helpful emails and were able to accommodate our requests. They were able to provide an airport pick up and a guide to lead me through the medina to the riad. The decor was beautiful, and the whole staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They even went out and bought our train tickets so we wouldn't have to! With the extreme heat, winding medinas, and language barrier in Marrakech, this was the perfect place to come back and find some respite. The city was fascinating and exciting, but staying at this riad really made the whole trip.

Room Tip: We stayed in the "red" room with two single beds and loved the sunlit bathroom. It was pe...

Michael and Michel made our stay at riad al massarah an absolute delight. Not only are they consummate hosts, but their knowledge of Marrakech, and willingness to share it, are a huge benefit! From our arrival, when we were greeted with fresh mint tea, to being walked to our taxi on departure, everything was just wonderful.

The riad is small, with only a handful of rooms, which gives it a really intimate feel. The rooms themselves are decorated really tastefully in a traditional style with subtle charming details. The staff are so friendly and the service they provide impeccable . Particular mention should go to the hammam (scrubbing massage) and the breakfast on the roof terrace, which really is pure paradise.
