This a beautiful riad, and is only a few minutes walk away from the heart of the soukhs and main areas but nestles in the maze of streets that make up old Marrakech. The hosts are so helpful and considerate, the central area and rooftop are beautiful and restful. All our needs were catered for, including my food allergy, and we were made to feel so welcome. The riad can be a little difficult to find at first so suggest that you get them to arrange your taxi from the airport or arrival point but they are extremely considerate organizing transport or for you to be accompanied to/from restaruants - they'll evne come and find you if you get lost - just make it to the taxi ranks. After a busy day shopping in the soukhs this really is an oasis of peace, coolness and tranquility. I will return.

The staff were really friendly here especially Abdul, who drew a map for us to the main square. The location was good once you know where you're going, about 15 minutes to the main square Djemma el Fna. The room was clean and tidy, as was the shower and toilet . I would recommend this Riad to everyone.

Service was above and beyond my expectations. From being flexible about the breakfast schedule, to arranging a shisha in the comfortable sofas in the terrace. It's not every day that one is offered to be served fresh juice and toast at 6:30am (we had an excursion at 7) like it was the most simple thing in the world.

The room was well lit, clean and had a simple but appealing decoration. Cable tv and air conditioning were available. However, it was not that big, the water heating on the shower was tricky to control, and there was a small colored window that could eventually allow other guests to eves drop. None of these details stopped us from having a romantic stay (:

The greatest drawback of the b&b is its location. It is 25 minutes walking from the main square ... if you know the way. The Medina has intricate labyrinth of unnamed streets. It's quite an experience to find your way, but I would advise to try it for the first time during daytime, and with planty of time.

My advise is to accept the transfer offered by b&b. I did not, and ended up paying an overcharged taxi, plus a ‘mec’ to get to the b&b door.

Stayed here for a total of 5 or 6 nights on 3 separate occasions in our 11 day holiday to Morocco. We had to change our plans due to the volcanic ash cloud and they were very accommodating. The staff were always very friendly and flexible, getting up early to do breakfast for us when we had early trips booked. The rooms were relaxing and clean and the roof terrace was perfect for some relaxation after a hectic day in the souk. The location was ideal as it enabled you to get away from the madness of the main square but not be too far out.

We stayed at Riad Lapis-Lazuli for 4 nights in Mid-January. It is really a great experience! Although it is located in a quiet area of the Medina and not always easy to find it is simply a hidden gem. Make sure that you dine at the Riad one night (it will be around 30 euros for two with a bottle of wine included). If you choose to do so you will have one of the most romantic evenings that you can imagine.

The Riad is nicely decorated, with great elegance. And the staff is extremely professional. With special thanks to Abdul who is always present and ready to help in any situation with politeness that is nowadays hard to find.

You can walk to the central plaza but it will take you around 30 min, and can be a little tricky (but loosing yourself at the medina might also be the charm of it all… just make sure to ignore anyone trying to persuade you that you are going in the wrong direction, or that the museum is closed and you will be fine ;-) Otherwise you can just take a cab anywere which will cost you around 2 euros during the day and 3 (or 4 if you really don’t want to bargain) in the evening.

Marrakesh is great and you are in for a treat you choose to stay at Lapis-Lazuli

Riad Lapis-Lazuli couldn't have been more of a pleasure, from the entire staff, ownership, and overall experience. This riad is the perfect base for exploring Marrakech and its souks, enjoying home-cooked Moroccan food, and being immersed in the culture and everyday life of the medina. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating, from ordering cabs to-and-from dinners to really making us feel part of the family. Patric and Laurent run a very fine establishment, and with the help of the intrepid Abdul, it's one of the more amazing places I've stayed in the world. Completely satisfied and will definitely be coming back.

We could not have been happier with this riad. The proprietor, Patrick, went out of his way to make us feel at home, and it was much appreciated. Rooms are immaculate, location is ideal (taxi stand is just down the street and it's a ten minute walk to the "square"), and it really is an oasis in a very busy city. I have already recommended Riad Lapis-Lazuli to others and hope to stay here again soon! Other reviews are true: this place is a gem!
