My partner and I stayed for 4 nights after visiting the mountains and Essaouira. It's like stepping into a secret oasis after the heat, dust and noise of the busy streets. The location is a bit of a walk to the main square but we far preferred that to staying in the middle of the bustle.
Beautiful terraces and communal areas and a deliciously tranquil pool. Gin & tonic on the roof as the sun cools was lovely.
We had dinner on 2 evenings and the food was great so would recommend if you want an evening without a walk home.
We had a suite at the top with a pretty and private terrace which was divine. Felt so spoilt! The bed was SO comfortable it was liking sleeping on clouds!!
The only downside for us was that our big, fab bathroom had a bath with a hand held shower which was tricky to use without dousing the surrounding area.
The resident cat and kittens provide endless entertainment. The staff were all so helpful it felt like we were leaving friends at the end of our stay.
We also had a hamman which was an experience. The only one we had so can't compare but felt relaxed, invigorated and very clean after an hour with the very capable Sena (sp?) :)
Tip: the maps available at the riad aren't the greatest. We had dinner at El Fenn on our last evening and picked up one of the maps at reception there which was so much better so maybe treat yourself to El Fenn early and grab a map.
Highly recommend.

people keep asking me for recommendations in morocco and the first thing that comes out of my moth is stay at Riad Edward! We stayed in a suite for 6 people that was adorable. In addition to our stay, the riad also helped organize a Sahara tour for us in a reasonable price range. They gave great recommendations (and yes we shared a hilarious moment after our first experience in the public hammam!) It rained one day while we were there (very unfortunate), but it was still a great evening with as we arrnageroom service included dinner in our suite and a fire. I could not recommend more (actually I should do it less so that the price and quality stays reasonable haha!). Staff is friendly and so wonderful. Great stay!

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights in May 2014. We booked two nights at the beginning and end of our trip to Morocco, and stayed one further night at the beginning because once we arrived we realised it was just lovely!

The place - absolutely beautiful, extremely clean, classy, full of character, big, airy, with pool. The rooms are beautiful, and the place is big and spacious over the many floors and terraces that even when its full you don't feel like you're treading on other guests' toes. Wonderful views from the top terrace - and all the other ones too. We had breakfast on each level over our three nights there. The pool is great - clean and stylish - I went for a swim and lovely to watch the birds above, blue sky. Lovely plants, kittens and cats (house ones - not stray), tortoise. Sound of birds and pigeon doves in the morning.

Staff and service - Very professional, friendly, fun. We were two young women travelling alone, so it was great to have the advice and support from Simon, with the support of Sayedh and Ibrahim. They made us feel very welcome, and created a lovely atmosphere in the Riad. They helped us get tickets for our bus ride to Essaouria, and kept us supplied with mint tea and little pastry cakes for our journey home. But they also treated us like the independent adults and women that we are, and by and large didn't patronise or 'hard sell' as some of the staff in other places might do. Great English and French language skills. Played some fun and tasteful music in a non intrusive area. Thank you all!
The cleaning staff were also all great - very friendly, discrete and professional too, and they did a very good job making the rooms beautiful and making sure our twin beds were made up correctly. Towels, toiletries on hand etc.

Food - Had our first dinner at the Riad as we got in quite late. It was quite pricey compared to what you'd get in a local eatery (ask for the price before you say yes). But it was worth it in this instance. We arrived late, and were served lovely starter, tagines and fruit salad beside the pool - all with immaculate service and candleit environment. Just dreamy! Breakfast was very nice. The usual Moroccan breakfast fayre, but all good quality (fresh orange juice, coffee, pancakes, bread, fresh fruit, jams, honey) served with great service, wherever you liked.

Facilities - Free wifi. Able to use printer to print boarding passes.

Value - For the Superior Double we had (as a twin) - was good shared between two people for a few nights.

Suitable for - Anyone I think. We were two friends travelling together. But there were also (and would be great for) couples and families with small children who all seemed to enjoy it hugely. Kids like the pool, running around etc.

Location - good. Got to navigate the windy soukhs to get to the main square (approx. 15-20 mins walk). Can be bit annoying if just want quick dinner nearby (maybe they can recommend more local places). But not really bad.

Other - I liked that the place felt quite down to earth, 'hip' and accessible - not too 'mainstream' or boring. It had character and the rates were expensiveish but still reasonable enough for two people working in charities to stay for a few nights. I hope all of this doesn't change.

Worst - distance to the main square and lots (but would NOT have liked to stay right in the Square where loads of places were - far too much hustle and tourists). Call to prayer quite loud at 5am in our room on the terrace (but you get that in most places in Marrakech). One suggestion - the cats are lovely and don't get rid of them - but sometimes they do mistake the flower bed areas for their litter tray/their litter tray smells just a little! Very small point and really not a reason not to book - but something that could be worked on to make it even better.

Best - the beautiful place, great staff, cleanliness and quality.

Room Tip: We stayed in Terrace Room (Superior Double on the Terrace) which was arranged for Twin. Was very nice. Windows on both sides - lovely shower and ensuite bathroom, beautiful fittings and furniture, airy, light. Had a look at one of the big suites on my last day. Looked gorgeous - but was darker. For the money, our room was very good value and just right for us. And still felt very sumptuous.

Just outside the chaotic medina, a good place to relax enjoying the panorama from the top terrace at sunset. Absolutely not to miss a Moroccan dinner prepared by a very talented local woman.
Have a chicha and the tasty mint tea on the sofa looking at the pool.

This place is beautiful. I am a frequent visitor to Marrakech and this is definitely the best Riad I have stayed at by a long way, the staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. T he rooms are spacious and are all uniquely designed there is a lot of outside space lovely terraces to relax on. It is peaceful but not far from the main attractions. I wouldn't stay anywhere else now I have found this gem of a place.
