“Not inspiring but worth the 75p entrance fee.”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

Stumbled upon this by chance whist wandering the souks off Jamma El Fna ( main square).
.
As the title states not awe inspiring but for 75p you are most certainly not being robbed.
Small gardens / path, leads to a small palace with mainly mediocre mosaics on walls floors and ceilings.

Some rooms are pretty average in design and call me a moron if you like, but some reminded me a bit of old fashioned UK public swimming baths.
Some are more intricate, but nothing as facy as the Sistine Chapel here I'm afraid, but there again, what do you expect for 75p.

Verdict ?
Defenitely worth a visit and it at least provides some shade and half hour respite from being dragged around the souks by my wife, yet again.

Do please visit.

“not much to see here”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

we made a detour to see the palace while visiting the souks on marrakech.

the road to the palace is more beautiful and interesting than the palace itself with the orange and banana trees (which happened to be fruit laden in spring).

the palace is more like a collection of villas joint together most of which seem like large empty rooms with very little in the way of dramatic architecture or decorations which one might expect from a "palace". Most of the rooms (if not all?) are just empty with no furniture or other objects on display.

The entry fee is small, so doesnt hurt to go here .... but apart from the shade of the orange trees, not much to see here or do here

“Just walls, ceilings and floors to be seen.”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

It was “ok” even with a guide, he was kind of vague on the details but for the concubines..LOL…The walls and ceilings are very pretty, done in mosaic tiles, plaster and wood, some of the floors were very pretty as well. There is no furniture or any other detail other than ceilings, walls and floors, so not much to see once you have seen the first or second room. If pressed for time, I would skip this one, I didn't find it very interesting.

Visited the palace on my first day in Marrakech and was overwhelmed by the mosaics, carvings , architecture and beauty of the place. Not to be missed.
