“Worth a visit”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

We walked there arriving at 09.00 but there were two tour groups just going in! We skirted past them and were then able to look around empty rooms while they were still having the talk from the guides. Unfortunately there is no information in English about the different areas (unless you get a guide) but it is amazing to look at the architectural decorations. We were told that the stucco was carved by hand after being applied to the walls!

“Large crowds while we were there”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

Unfortunately, we probably didn't give this the time it deserved. There were such large groups of tourists there! It was hard to get around them, as they would be oblivious to the fact that there were people there trying to walk around that were not with their tour. We looked as we tried to dodge the crowds.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

Very tranquil and pretty, go early to avoid the tour groups and the heat. I would suggest paying a little more for a guide as not many of the signs are in English (french or arabic only)

“Exquisite building, lack of interpretation”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

The Bahia Palace was very busy and lacked information for those who weren't with a guide, like us. For this reason, if you want to get into the history of the place, get a guide or a guidebook. It's beautiful and the tiling is stunning, but we felt a little let down by the complete lack of any information in English. I appreciate that French and Arabic are available but unfortunately my French is way too rusty. It's worth visiting if you're in the area, but be prepared for crowds.

“Empty walls”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

Food without spice, salad without dressing, garden without flowers, river without water, room without furniture. How else can one describe a palace that once used to host the heirs of throne, missing everything else than its walls? This is a skull of a wonderful princess that was dreamt to have, dared to look at, impossible to talk to. But just a skull, nothing else. Palais de Bahia reminds that something used to be there but these remnants fail to raise any feeling in the present.

If you have nothing else to do, visit this skull of the princess, entry fee is very low, price is definitely worth the visit, time is not.
