“A perfect place to relex a safe distance from the bustle...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012 via mobile

The first of our Riads on our trip, this was a gem of calm in an otherwise bustling city.

To get there, you have to take a taxi to the nearby rank and then walk for 5mins though the local backstreets, winding your way to the door! A great experience for those wanting to immerse themselves in the local culture!

The Riad itself is simply decorated, using white and pale colours to pervay a rustic luxury. The rooms, if anything were a little on the small side, but comfy and authentic none the less. The atmosphere was relaxed and calm and so quiet for a local area. Perfect for exploring the city on foot then retreating for mint tea and an afternoon nap!

Great value due to 4 nights for price of 3 deal. Service lacked slightly as hosts were a little more absent. We asked for recommendations of activities and not a huge amount of guidance was given, but overall a great base and very enjoyable stay.

What a magical place to stay in. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Our twin room was very comfortable and was authentic in its Morroccon decore, lying in the bath you were transported to the stars. It's position is ideal for visiting the various sights of Marrakech ,most within walking distance, even for someone aged 65 as I am !

We stayed for 3 nights in Riad Ariha. If you are looking to stay somewhere small and authentic - and experience personal service from people who really care - then this is the place for you. The Riad is tucked away in the streets of the Old City and is a real haven from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff - from walking with us to the local pharmacy to bringing us tea in the morning. Not a 'super' luxury option but calm, simple and pretty rooms and relaxing areas all make you feel like you can relax and be at home here.

My husband and I stayed at the Riad Ariha for three nights in October as a part of our honeymoon. Whilst at first we felt the maze of streets and lanes to get to the slightly daunting, with a little help from the staff (with great maps, tips and tricks) we were getting out an about in Marrakech with confidence. The Riad was very beautiful and clean however the highlight for us was the staff. They were all very kind, welcoming and helpful. Tip: take the staffs advice and have dinner at the nearby restaurant. While it's expensive and understated from the outside, it is like walking into another land. Without a doubt the best culinary experience of our stay in Morocco. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this Riad to others.

Much more than we expected. When I thought about our stay there later on, it occured to me that the place keeps getting even better in my memories. The rooms, clean sheets, the smell of freshness, phantastic atmosphere, the birds who woke me up every morning, the most fantasitc shower.. Peace and quiet. And most of all: the staff. The hotel manager Emina is the brain of the place. Thank you Emina for the black soap and teaching me how to wear a scarf..If she is the brain, than the "man of all trades" (sorry dear, your name is on the tip of my tongue) is the heart.Always there and ready to help. Not to mention, the always good spirited cooks, understanding no word of English but "yes" or "no", but whose warm smiles welcomed us every day. Thank you all for the flowers, delicious batbouts, and much more...

It is impossible to overstate how wonderful our time was at Riad Ariha, but here is one indication: I started this trip advisor account specifically for the opportunity to sing their praises.

Our time in Marrakech was marked by an absurd heat wave, with temperatures well above 112 F (44 C). As a result, we returned to the Riad during the midday, and had the opportunity to spend a good deal of time with one of the owners, Badr, who regaled us with stories of his life and family, often while cooling off in the courtyard's plunge pool.

Because the hotel had a low occupancy, when we arrived, our room was upgraded at no extra charge. This kind of unexpected thoughtfulness pervaded our stay. For instance, my wife took a cooking class during our visit, and loved the experience. But when we departed, her teacher gifted her with a clay tagine! (Of course, this is an easy purchase anywhere in the medinas, but it was a small and thoughtful gesture!)

Dinners were better at the Riad than at some of the most expensive restaurants in the city. The staff were friendly and helpful. The decorating and design of the space was simple, yet lovely.

This Riad is the most wonderful place. The owners have lived all over the world and are wonderful to talk with. The people that staff the place are like family. We took a cooking class that was amazing! Everyone here is delightful and very helpful. If only there were places like this everywhere I traveled to! Location is perfect also.
