When we arrived we were not sure but after settling in we really enjoyed our stay. Yassine is really nice and very helpful he arranged our trip to Ourika which we would recommend it was a lovely trip. Breakfast was really nice and as we don't drink coffee Yassine made us his special mint tea which was delicious. There is a roof terrace which is a sun trap there is also a tortoise up there who is very friendly. Yassine gave us a map and showed us the route to the square which was chaotic but great fun. The Riad is within walking distance from some nice places to eat it's perfectly safe to walk around we didn't get any hassle the locals are really nice and friendly.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the ground floor they are a bit bigger

We arrived late after our flight was delayed. The Riad is on a narrow street and would be difficult to find but our Airport Transfer driver took us right to the door. The Riad opens up into a wonderful peaceful courtyard and we were greeted by Yassen the Manager with the customary mint tea. Our room was right off the courtyard, simple with very comfortable beds, and a rustic bathroom. Although we were late, Yassen coooked a meal for us and as throughout the stay made us feel very relaxed and welcome. We were there on a half-board basis and really enjoyed our evening meals sitting in the courtyard - traditional Moroccan fare (Tagine, Cous Cous etc). The Riad was generally tranquil and the roof terrace was a great place to sit and look at the stars. There was some noise from late-coming guests during the stay which might affect someone who is a light sleeper.

The Riad is not in a polished part of the city but is a short walk from the souks and about 20 minutes walk from the main square. Once we had memorised the Riad's address, it was no problem to get a taxi back there if we needed to.

We would definitely stay here again on a return trip to Marrakech. We were won over by the genuine hospitality of the staff and the charm of the Riad.

When we first arrived, it wasn't easy to find, because we took a taxi, and hadnt realised there was a shuttle from the hotel. Having read lots of reviews on Marrakech through TripAdvisor, we were highly aware of the possibility of getting ripped off, instead what we have found is that the people are friendly and have a genuine desire to help you. From the wonderful hustle bustle of the busy streets and souks, Riad ElSagaya offers a tranquil retreat, which is instantly calming as you walk through the door. The staff are pleasant and helpful, and nothing is too much trouble, even an early breakfast!
Yassine the manager works tirelessly to ensure your stay is a great one, the breakfasts are truly delicious and although notice is required if you want to dine in the riad in the evening, you will not be disappointed by the lovely food.
The room is basic, but with everything you need. It is well cleaned daily, with a comfortable bed, and plenty of room to relax in.
Riad ElSagaya is a good twenty minute walk away from the main square, which means that you get to experience a little of Moroccan culture away from the tourist trap. We explored the local streets without hassle, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Riad El Sagaya is a gret base for a trip to Marrakech. You will find the staff to be charming, friendly and helpful. The riad offers oasis of peace compared to the streets of Marrakech as well as a nice roof top with views across the city. The rooms are simple and clean with a nice, well equipped bathroom. The court yard offers a small pool but it was a little to cold for swimming. Breakfast is also served in the courtyard and includes a glass of the fresh orange juice for which Marrakech is famous.

The location of the Riad is excellent. It is not on one of the main tourists streets so you get a sense of everyday Moroccan life. However it is within walking distance of the main square and the markets. The Mythic Oriental spa is just a few minutes walk away which I recommend a visit too. There are also several nice restaurants in the area meaning you don't have to go to far if for dinner. I plan to go back to Marrakech this year and would not think of staying anywhere else.

I went to El Sagaya in december of this year with some friends. It's really a nice place, like a oasis inside the medina. It's perfect if you want stay and try a typical atmosphere of Marrakech. The riad is quite and little, all the room are different. There is a very little pool and a beautiful roof. The breakfast was good and also the mint tee that we had every nights before to go sleep. It's possible also have dinner. There is not a spa but if you ask you can reserve massage also in your room. It's a very nice place where you can meet people from everywhere and the manger Yassine is very kind. From the riad you can visit all part of medina by foot in 20 minutes. It's far 15 minutes by walk from the most of important place that is jemaa el fna and it is good because near the square is very chaotic. If you want a taxi you can take it near the riad (200meters out of riad). It's perfect to visit marrakech!
