I have just returned from Marrakech, and had a wonderful dinner at the Catalina. The food was delicious, and the service was extremely friendly and attentive. The courtyard where we ate is absolutely lovely.

Friends of mine were staying there and they said they loved their rooms, and that the excellent service we experienced at dinner was the same all day long!

Riad Catalina is truly a gem. Beautifully authentic and picturesque, and comfortable with all necessary amenities. I particularly chose a riad with a pool so as to have some relaxation and I wasn't disappointed! The riad is well situated near Jemaa Al fna square and within walking distance for several other attractions!
Sadly I wasn't aware that rooms could be upgraded otherwise I would have chosen a third floor room with its own terrace -despite a third narrow flight of stairs!! Not for the faint hearted or infirm!!
The truly memorable part of the time spent in the riad was without doubt the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff. They were absolutely brilliant and nothing was too much trouble - I'd return for that alone. In addition the meals were excellent -dinner was a little costly but delicious and well presented and plenty of it! I'd most definitely recommend Riad Catalina

Room Tip: We went on a package deal and therefore weren't aware of the rooms that were available. If I ret...

The Riad Catalina was a literal oasis in the middle of the madness of Marrakech. It felt like the comfort of home with the staff of a king ready to help in any way possible. We loved our meals in the courtyard of the riad as well as the courteous always ready room service. The riad as others have described was near a square but through a series of neat alleys. It was an ideal location with walking distance to the Jem'Al'Fna and other attractions but without the noise and congestion of most other locations. The feeling of leaving the (absolutely chaotic) square and other parts and arriving back at the quiet pristine riad with the birds, turtles and friendly staff made my day every day.

Musts:
1) book your airport transfer through the Riad. Very helpful, cheap and a man came to collect us and our bags and show us the way through the alleys.
2) If you can, purchase a room upgrade. We were on the top floor with a patio and it had stunning views, a nice couch and was really isolated.
3) Meals in the riad are slightly pricey compared to city fare but the peace, quality of food and flexibility (you can ask for pretty much anything regardless of menu) are well worth it.
4) Have a bottle of wine or a beer in the courtyard or by the pool on the roof in the afternoon after a day out.

Nadia and Aatif as well as their trusted main staff make this place run. They are welcoming, knowledgable and trustworthy and they absolutely made our stay. Both individually did incredibly kind things and went literally out of their way (Aatif made a trip home and back) to show us the best of Marrakech and make our stay more comfortable. Talk to them and trust their advice. It helped us tremendously. Above and beyond.

Thanks Riad Catalina.

Room Tip: Try to upgrade your room as much as available. The upgrade was reasonable and higher up rooms or Roy...

Reached through zigzag alleyways, a low door grants access to the Riad Catalina.
Courteous staff, good tagines from the lady cook Hanane, relaxing seating areas and tortoises to amuse you. Great for relaxation - and the staff were all part of that.
A very worthwhile stay.

Room Tip: You just need a good pair of legs for any of the upstairs bedrooms. \The ground floor rooms are deli...

Stayed for a week at the beginning of September. The Riad itself was stunning, lovely clean room, beautiful courtyard, plunge pool ideal for a quick dip to cool off while sunbathing.
So much for the building, what really made our stay was the attitude of the staff, nothing was too much trouble and we got to know most of them on first name terms, anything we asked for was magiced for us. We had a special request for breakfast one morning khlia (Arabic) and it was prepared to perfection (try it, its lovely). We could not have asked for better service and we think we found the best room in the place, but we're not going to tell you which one as we plan to return.
As for location, about 10 minutes stroll to the square and 15 to the nearest gardens. We had a magic time in Marrakech and the accommodation contributed greatly to this.
Please give Hassan and Yousef our best wishes (Tommy and Jeannie) and tell them we will see them soon, imchalah, and a big chokran to all the staff

Riad Catalina is in an ideal location close to the main square but not too far down the maze of alleys so you can find your way to it easily. The staff were friendly and helpful and able to provide good tips on where to go and how to get there. The rooms were clean and inviting and the roof terrace with plunge pool was beautiful.
