Reached through zigzag alleyways, a low door grants access to the Riad Catalina.
Courteous staff, good tagines from the lady cook Hanane, relaxing seating areas and tortoises to amuse you. Great for relaxation - and the staff were all part of that.
A very worthwhile stay.

Room Tip: You just need a good pair of legs for any of the upstairs bedrooms. \The ground floor rooms are deli...

Stayed for a week at the beginning of September. The Riad itself was stunning, lovely clean room, beautiful courtyard, plunge pool ideal for a quick dip to cool off while sunbathing.
So much for the building, what really made our stay was the attitude of the staff, nothing was too much trouble and we got to know most of them on first name terms, anything we asked for was magiced for us. We had a special request for breakfast one morning khlia (Arabic) and it was prepared to perfection (try it, its lovely). We could not have asked for better service and we think we found the best room in the place, but we're not going to tell you which one as we plan to return.
As for location, about 10 minutes stroll to the square and 15 to the nearest gardens. We had a magic time in Marrakech and the accommodation contributed greatly to this.
Please give Hassan and Yousef our best wishes (Tommy and Jeannie) and tell them we will see them soon, imchalah, and a big chokran to all the staff

Riad Catalina is in an ideal location close to the main square but not too far down the maze of alleys so you can find your way to it easily. The staff were friendly and helpful and able to provide good tips on where to go and how to get there. The rooms were clean and inviting and the roof terrace with plunge pool was beautiful.

Came for a three day break and the location was excellent-literally just few turns away from the main square and all the fun but as soon as you walk through the door you are engulfed in a very calm and quiet surroundings.Room had all that it needed, the only downside a lot of stairs. Good service, they let us check out late. The only negative thing is the price of the dinner. For two meals and cold drinks we paid 760 dirhams!!!!!You can get the same on the main square for 200!But over all good times.

Room Tip: Top floor for the views and the pool.

This is a very beautiful Riad, in superb and very safe location, no more than 3 – 5 minutes walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa square. All previous reviews pretty much summed it up already – friendly staff, great service, clean rooms with lots of character features.

Special thanks to the lady at the reception who allowed us to keep our room until 5pm as we were on a very late flight back home. I would definitely recommend this Riad to all those who wish to experience traditional Marrakech accommodation over large hotels who are too far from the city centre & simply cannot provide the same authentic experience in my opinion.

My only slightly negative remark would be about the price for the evening meal – we ate at the Riad once and it was very expensive, probably twice the amount we paid in other restaurants while in Marrakech. However, food was absolutely amazing and I would happily dine there again, budget permitting.

Thank you Riad Catalina, we’ve had a great stay!

I have just returned from a four night stay in this wonderful Riad.
Tucked away in an alley it is peaceful and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and traditional with one window which looked onto the internal courtyard. If you prefer modern boutique hotels with every mod con and soulless furniture, this is maybe not the place for you but for those who want tradition, with staff who genuinely want to help then I cannot recommend this Riad enough.

Although we officially checked out at 12pm yesterday, because we were not flying out until nearly midnight, we were offered a room to rest and shower in the afternoon.
As we were two women alone, Hassan was on hand to walk with us along the alleys to the main road until we felt confident to walk around ourselves.
We will certainly return and would like to thank Nadia for all of her help.

Room Tip: Rooms on third floor have a terrace.

A great Riad in the heart of Marrakech Medina providing peace from the noise, smells and chaos of Marrakech. Do not be put off by the approach through the alley ways, remember you are staying in the heart of the original city.
Great room, and really nice friendly staff. Souks, The Square and other tourist sites where all within easy walking distance.
Thanks to the Riad Catalina for a great stay from arrival to departure.
