This is a great little Riad in the middle of the medina near the Ben Youssef madrassa (wonderful) and Museum ( not so interesting). The rooms are great but the beds are very hard. Breakfast is taken on the terrace and is of good quality, Evening meals are cooked on request. The staff are very helpful. It would be wise to ask the manager to arrange the transport from the airport as taxis leave you about 500 m from the riad and it is difficult to find whilst carrying luggage. The staff leave you very much on your own but for the price I would have liked to see more hands on service with offers to provide tea and refreshments on return from a hectic day of sight seeing - though when asked they are very accomodating. The other addition that would be helpful is provision of local information - eg costs of meals and drinks and other services within the Riad; how the internet access works; local information etc.

We will always remember Talaa12.
To start, the staff was really amazing and always helping us around with everything we needed. Younes even found us lost in the middle of the town and gave us a lift back!
The service was unique, the decor is very elegant and sophisticated, and to have breakfast on the roof terrace with a view of the Medina is a feeling that I can't describe... so good!
We got engaged at the roof terrace of Talaa 12 during sunset, and it was the most romantic thing ever.
I will always remember Talaa12, and will most definitely come back!

This review is about the incredible flexibility and wonderful people who work at Talaa 12. I got snowed in in NY and could not catch a flight to make it to Marrakech and consequently had to cancel my trip. Although I had a fully paid weekend at Talaa 12, Younes at Talaa 12 helped me cancel my reservation without any penalty which is unheard of in the boutique lodging industry in key markets. If this is how Talaa 12 treat guests before they even arrive, I can't even imagine how amazing Younes and the staff are when guests are actually staying there. I plan to return when I rebook my trip to Marrakech.

There is no doubting that Talaa 12 is a wonderful hotel - however, it's based right in the thick of Marrakech and not for the faint-hearted!

The hotel itself is a wonderful oasis hidden inside the heart of the old town with spacious and beautifully furnished rooms. The only down side was that there was no mini bar, TV or pool. The staff are incredibly helpful and hospitable (especially Ibriham), and look after you well. Breakfast is a real treat and not to be missed, with delicious local delights cooked up every morning just for you. If you get a chance to try out the Hamman massage I'd recommend it - especially if you enjoy the odd Turkish spa.

For the intrepid traveller wanting to get under the skin of Marrakech, this is a great location, with the souks, sights and sounds of the city all on your doorstep. However, it can also be a scary experience at night - taxis will seldom drop you off where you want and you're left wandering around the labyrinth on your own, or with local vagrants guiding you for a small cost. if you do get a cab, tell them to drop you off at the Museum or Ben Yosef as they seem to understand that.

Oh - and one word of advice, bring earplugs if you want to avoid being woken up for prayer at 5am!

This is a lovely, quiet riad on the edge of the Medina. Staff were unobtrusive but very helpful and very friendly (thank you Mohammed and Younis!). There is a lovely roof terrace for sunning and is where they serve a superb breakfast. I had a 'suite' room which was enormous and very comfortable. I had a very relaxing few days and was glad of the chance to escape the bustle of the city to a very civilised, quiet spot. Highly recommended!

This really was amazing place.
Everything was perfect. The room, the courtyard, the roof terrace, the service, the location and the best of all, Karima's delicious dinner! The only regret was that we could not stay longer!
