Knowledgeable people say that in Morocco there are two worlds. The street is for men and business and the home is for family. The aggression of the street in Marrakesh can be intimidating at times, but enthralling nevertheless. When you visit, you need somewhere that is “family” to return to and Riad 72 fits that bill. From the moment we walked in, there was a friendliness and calm that allowed us to reenergize to explore the medina, the gardens and the Atlas Mountains. The building is beautiful and the cooking is delightful, but most of all, the staff is wonderful.

My mother and i stayed at Riad 72 at the end of March after trawling trip advisor for a Riad. We had high expectations after reading all of the great reviews but the Riad exceeded them all - if you can stay here do it!
We were picked up from the airport and then met at the other end and led to the Riad. Once inside, we were welcomed by Rachid (who was the perfect host all week!) with mint tea and biscuits and then shown our room. The interior is amazing, beautiful banana trees, relaxing music and beautiful decor. Our room was perfect with a huge bath and beautiful Morrocan doors and the view from the roof terrace is amazing. On clear days we could see the snow on the atlas mountains and being one of the highest terraces in the area meant you were never overlooked and could relax/sunbathe.
The food was fantastic - fatuma's food really is as good as the reviews make out
i want to go back! Neither of us could fault it!!
Thanks to everyone at riad 72 for an amazing stay!

We stayed at Riad 72 for Valentines this year. From the moment we arrived and saw the beautiful riad, we knew we would have the most amazing time.

We were welcomed with mint tea and biscuits before being taken to our room. Our room was incredible. The interiors just amazing - perfect mix of Moroccan and Italian.

We had the most delicious dinner at Riad 72 on the first night (the best we had in Morocco) and the second night the staff made sure to reserve us a table at another great restaurant in Marrakech. The breakfasts were brilliant too – served in the stunning court yard - your own little piece of paradise. So lush and tranquil.

The roof top terrace was fantastic with stunning views over Marrakech. We watched the sun go down one evening and it was truly magical to hear the call for prayer right across the city.

The staff at Riad 72 were great – especially Rajid and Asif. Always smiling and happy to help you, but at the same time very discreet.

We cannot recommend Riad 72 enough – it is a very very special place.

Room Tip: Dinner at the riad. Tea on the roof top at sunset.

After recently seeing the film sex and the city 2 we could not think of a better place for a girls weekend away than Marrakesh. It could not have been more fantastic. We were greeted at the airport by the Riad and loved walking through the little streets to the Riad. When the door opened all of us were jumping for joy. The atrium is beautiful and the rooms exceptional. We had a fantastic cookery lesson here and the staff took us to purchase the ingredients which was great fun. The staff here are fabulous and cannot be more helpful or attentive. The food is delicious. The roof terrace is stunning and the bed I slept in was enormous. The highlight of our stay was us all having a hammam. We giggled about it all weekend and have never felt so clean. All together fabulous.

The room we stayed was apparently nice, except because we need to climb to a gallery in a dangerous stair to reach the bed, then when i made the reservation (http://www.riadsmorocco.com/riad-marrakech/riad-72/) they offered me a shower and bathtub, there was not badtube at all and the shower was encharged to made a mess in the whole bathroom, the floor was wet the whole day, so we needed to dry it up with the towels of the terrace. where you can find the splash swimming pool, is like a play mobil pool, is so small. is like a the badtube they did not put in the room.
The worst experience: I decied to invite a friend to drink something in the terrace of the riad, not in the room, and all of a sudden came the guard, in a rude way and shouting at me came and made me a big scandal telling me he will call the police for that, and treated me as a criminal. First of all we were not informed about any policy or rule about of not been able to invited people in the public areas of the riad, like restaurant or terrace, i understand exactly rules, but there are ways to communicate things, even the manager told me was about the bad french of the guard , i thing was not the topic, the excuse was so banal.
Plus there were a hysteric children that did not let us sleep
I would NEVER would like to go back there! They all were so fake! less smiles and better services can help the place
