Okay for this trip I took of my diva hat and was a humble person. I'm used to fancy hotels but thought this is far from fancy. The important factors were there, the room was clean and so was the bathroom. The two swimming pools are really nice and the time of year we went it was not packed which was great. There is also a table tennis by the pool which was nice. I was disappointed with the selection of breakfast, breakfast was pancakes, freshly made fried eff or omelettes and a range of pasties, with a fresh glass of orange juice or hot drink. For lunch and dinner we tended to go out, as the hotel food was more expensive and limited choice. The bathroom door in my room never closed and there was a dirty ashtray on the balcony the night we got there I was not impressed with that. But the staff are all very friendly. The hotel had good entertainment in the evening and its great that the hotel had FREE wi-fi. The hotel is in a great location and its easy to get a taxi from outside the hotel

Room Tip: Bring a big bag when you go out in the day time just in case you wanna bring snacks into your hotel...

We were a couple visiting Marrakech for a week and had a great time. I would only recommend staying bed and breakfast as lunch and dinner in the restaurant were very poor and over priced 100-130 dirham. Breakfast had a range - fresh Moroccan pancakes, freshly prepared omelettes / fried eggs, rolls / pastries and hot drinks. Water is over priced 20 dirhams a bottle but only about 10 in the nearby shops. You can buy food or drinks but put in your rucksack and be discrete when entering the hotel.

Location is good - we found it far enough away from the chaos of the Djemma el Fna but was cheap enough for a taxi to the centre - but we often walked in to the Plaza in centre of Gueliz, when the weather was cooler and took a cab from there.

rooms were basic, good sized and cleaned regularly. Staff were friendly - with the exception of the reception staff, but I think this is maybe a difference in culture and expectations of service. If you are pleasant all staff were nice and accomodating to help with any questions.

Pool was good, entertainment generally was questionable but hotel was quiet.

We didn't book tours through the hotel as bit more expensive - went to Imzi tours and saw the waterfalls and did quad biking...both were excellent!

Good bars (alcohol is expensive but can be found!) The Renaissance hotel - excellent food and brilliant views from the roof terrace, also worth checking out the Cafe de la Poste - fab food and staff - but this is pretty expensive.
hope this helps...have a great time!!!

I think we were so dissapointed as the hotel claimed to offer services that were not available.

Bad Points:-
Breakfast very limited.
Snack bar closed all day.
Not allowed to bring food or drink into the hotel. (no shop or snack bar so we were v hungry)
Cleaners did not leave any toilet roll so had to ask at reception.
No towels available by the pool.(Pool attendant not interested or available most of the time).
Sunloungers removed at 11am to make way for evening entertainment at 7.30pm.
Had to pay for water with evening meal.(money demaded whilst were still eating)
Very loud inapropraite music (if you speak english!) played by the pool.

Good Points:-
Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Check in was quick and easy
Although not near to the town, Taxis were cheap and always available.
Cash machine in hotel reception.
Evening meal was lovely and pleanty to choose from.

Overall a decent basic hotel. The fact that it advertises as four stars leaves you feeling let down. A good place to stay if you just want the basics.

I recently organised a trip for 5 hens to Marrakech. We stayed at the hotel Tropicana and was not dissapointed.

We are greeted with a smile and a cup of mint tea. The rooms were a good size and were cleaned every other day.

We were located right near the pool which was perfect. The pool staff were amazing!!! It was no hassle for them to bring drinks to us and also give us complimentary olives and nuts!!!

The hotel was located about 7 mins from the medina which meant getting a cab as it was too far to walk (especially in 45 degrees heat)!! Typical cab was about 40-50 dihram as there was 5 of us.

The medina was packed so make sure you stay close together as it is easy to get lost. There are lots of people trying to sell you stuff so if you are not interested just ignore them or say no.

Also a little tip - if you do take any photos of acts or snakes but prepared to tip! Have coins handy!! 10 - 20 Dirhams is plenty for a photo!!!

We ate at Le Marrakeshi and Le Comptoir - both fantastic restaurants!!! Especially Le Marrakeshi - best views!!! Both had belly dancing acts and other entertainment.

We also did a 2 hour camel trek - so much fun but make sure you take lots of water!!! and dont go at lunchtime like we did!!! TOO HOT!! I have posted a separate review for this.

We also went to La Plage Rouge and Nikki Beach. Both so much fun! I have posted separate reviews for these.

Lastly he had a hammam treatment!! Amazing and left skin feeling super soft!! A definite must!!! We had ours at the Kenzi Farah hotel which was lovely but most hotels offer them.

We also visited Pacha and The Rose Bar - both are located in the same complex. Great nights were had but very expensive. Nice for a treat though. I have posted separate reviews for these.

Overall we had a great time and we will definately be revisiting!

Check out my other reviews on our stay in Marrakech.

Room Tip: 117 and 118 (right by the pool and reception)

(10 girls) Great location only 30 MAD taxi from 'La place'. Food was excellent. DO NOT BOOK book Atlas mountain trip from hotel. 350 MAD, we were told included lunch by Omar the rep, not true! We were taken to a restaurant where we we expected to pay another 150 MAD for lunch. (we were not the only people told this) No air con on mini bus, we were told it didn't work but next day went back to airport and air con was working!!
The Hotel needs a bit of an update but clean and large rooms, the pool was great and the personnel very nice and friendly (exception a woman on reception who didn't seem to like people!)

Just returned from four nights here with my partner and we agree with a lot of the reviews here. The hotel is fine but nothing special. Rooms are clean but a bit basic. Pool is nice. Breakfast is fine, ate omelettes, "pancakes" and fresh fruit and drank orange juice. All were ok but would get dull if we'd stayed any longer. Had lunch one day and it was awful!!!!!!!! We had different meals and neither were edible. If I were to give any tips they would be: 1) if you pay for a safe turn off your phone before putting it in as signal interferes with lock so you can't open it and they have to call for an engineer which takes a few hours. 2) come out of the hotel and turn right. Turn right again and walk a couple of mins for a cheap and tasty cafe selling pizzas etc. 3) out of hotel turn right then left and walk to the main road. Takes five mins max and flag down a taxi. You need to haggle but you can go to new or old town for 20dh in the day and 30dh at night. 4) pat yourself on the back as you picked an amazing hol destination!!! Five star holiday, 2-3 star hotel.
