Cant believe how horrible a waiter was as I took my own water from the airport into hotel. As we were ladies any complaints dismissed. On booking website supposed to have kettles/balconies/wifi/minibar, but had none. There was a fridge in room but empty, not allowed to take food in so whats the point.

Please remove this hotel from your list of accommodation in Marakech. The hotel room cleanliness is extremely poor. Not only are, there bed bugs on the bed I slept on but I found the previous guest's stocking under my bed!. Imagine my dismay at the way the housekeeping dept cleaned the rooms! There is also a bouncer at the lobby who does not allow drinking water to be carried to the rooms!

I understand why previous reviewers have said the staff are rude, it all depends who is on the desk and door. Hannah was a delight at the desk, she was warm, generous with her advice and ready to have a joke. The man on the door was very distant, and it seemed we were an annoyance to him.
The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable.
The location was fine, a long walk to town but only 30Dh ( about £2.50) in a petit taxi.
The breakfast was continental, and didn't vary from day to day.
The evening buffet was food! Can't give it a better review, had absolutely no character, nothing morrocan, and quite expensive for what it was.

We booked this as part of a flight/hotel package and I guess the hotel came to about £37 per night for a twin room. For me that's not bad. Rack rate is around £68. The hotel is very clean and presentable both in terms of public areas and rooms. There are two blocks, front and rear, with a pleasant pool and garden area between them. We were in the rear, but I think the front block is better, the rear of the front block overlook the pool/garden area and have balconies so I guess these are the ones to go for. Wifi is apparently present throughout although in the rear block we had difficulty. No problem, there is plenty of quiet space in the lobby where you can surf on your laptop to your heart's content. It's fully open, no logins or anything needed. A big downside to this hotel is it's dry! No alcohol, and the food is s***, so that means you'll probably be looking for somewhere to go in the evening. Have no fear...

Contrary to recent postings I'd say the location pretty good, the immediate street area isn't smart but you're five minutes from the heart of the Gueliz district and arguably this is the best place to be if you prefer the old French district rather than the largely 'dry' medina.

If you're willing to brave the local cafe opposite you've be treated to decent food at a mere fraction of the price you'll pay elsewhere. Turn right out of the hotel and walk for 5 mins will take you to Gueliz central. Across the road is Hotel Tachfine where you'll find a bar on the top floor terrace, just go into the lobby and take the lift to the 6th floor. This is where we ended up for our nightcaps and we felt right at home, amongst what I'd regard as normal people. Nearby is Charly's Cabana, which is a nice restaurant, possibly the best pizzas in Marrakech and spacious layout. On the corner just beyond is a (rare) street level bar which is unpretentious in the best sense. Go in there for a few nights and you'll soon be welcomed as a friend. Across the road is the Renaissance Hotel, very swanky, nice restaurant with probably the best terrace bar views in town, but the drinks are expensive so you may find yourself at the Tachfine after one at the Renaissance. For your dining splurge La Fassia is highly recommended. The food and flavours are exquisite! And for a nice change it's run by women! Eat early or book in advance for a nice alcove table.

Stayed October 2010 for 7 nights

Bad Points:
Would AVOID this hotel for the following reasons:
* The road its on stinks - you need to walk up the road with a pashmina over your nose
* All the industrial size wheelie bins on this road seem to be over turned and rubbish all over the street - stinks
* Rubbish outside hotel doors, staff can't be bothered to clean it away from outside the hotel
* Breakfast is appalling, we paid for B&B and ate out for breakfast every day (recommend Kechmara or Cafe du Livre for lovely fresh breakfasts)
* Lady and elderly gentleman cooking pancakes use their fingers after biting nails, scraping dirt from finger nails!
* Crockery and Cutlery filthy
* Same bedsheets for 7 nights! Never changed once
* Staff loud at night banging doors & disturbing sleep
* POOL - never see's sunlight!! Hence the picture at nighttime with lights. The pool is overshadowed by buildings and there is no sun getting anywhere near it!
* Toilet in one room, bidet in a seperate room.......????
* Table mats and chairs were filthy when laid for breakfast
* Lighting in corridors seemed to be off all the time - had to fumble around to find a light switch
* Aircon really noisy, although needed at night, both got chesty bugs on return trip
* For the money there are much better hotels in the region

Good Points:
* er, none I'm afraid!
