“Definately worth a visit!”
Reviewed July 4, 2010

Myself & my partner are just back from a weeks stay at this hotel. After reading the prevoius reviews I am left wondering if it is the same hotel visited by other travellers?! We arrived late on the Friday night and although there was a slight language barrier we got checked into our room without a problem. Our room was situated on othe 2nd floor above the swimming pool. The room was very comfortable with 2 large beds, lots of room in the wardrobes & room also had large flat screen tv & air con. The bathroom was fine, bath with shower, towels were changed every day & bedding every 2nd day. We also had a lovely little balcony which overlooked the pool. Our pilot on the plane had advised us Marrakesh is an hour behind the UK, untrue! The time in Marrakesh is the same as the UK. Breakfast was adequate, a choice of the usual, breads, cereals, local dishes & fruit, with coffee & fruit juices. The breakfast staff & dinner staff we found more than helpful & asked after each meal if we had enjoyed it. Dinner was great also, we dined out every 2nd night but the dinners in the hotel were tasty & varied. If you want a drink with your dinner, simply ask the waiter serving you for it......it's that simple! I'd recommend the house Rose! Although there are only 23 sunbeds around the pool, no matter the time of day we ventured down we always got a sunbed, oh & the hotel supply you with a beach towel so don't take your own!The music system around the pool isn't the best & the music is obvioulsy on repeat.....we just laughed & saw the funny side of it!
All in all this Hotel is worth staying at, it's not in the hustle & bustle of downtown Marrakesh but everything is within a short walking distance away, the staff are helpful & pleasant & accomodated our every need. You also get value for your money!

Where to start, me and my sister stayed at this hotel and from the outside the hotel looks clean and welcoming, however inside is a totally different story. The receptionists are extremely unhelpful, they will change your money into dirhams but not back into the english pound and will ignore any requests pretending that they don't understand. However after calling us 'lesbians' in english it is clear that they do. The rooms are cleaned and the towels changed everyday, and the maids are the only pleasant staff within the hotel. The restaurant is completely atrocious, the staff are rude and just stare at you whilst your eating, we were seated at tables which had already been eaten at and not cleaned, even though there was clean tablesavailable. These of which were reserved for numerous french parties not even staying in the hotel, of which were waited on hand and foot throughout their meal and we were completely ignored, not even offered a drink. Thus we decided to buy our drinks from the bar which is situated across from the restaurant within the hotel, but we were told very rudely that we couldn't take the drinks from the bar into the restaurant, so had to eat our meals without a drink. The food was bland and there was a very limited selection, with a vegetarian cuisine of bread and butter. The pool was a good size and cleaned daily, however family and friends of the staff working within the hotel were allowed to use the facilities, leaving limited space for the hotels guests. The pool wasn't very relaxing as the same song was repeated from 6am till 12am, which could be heard throughout the whole hotel and was extremely annoying. Overall if you are english you will be completely ignored and spoken to very rudely. The majority of the staff are rude and arrogant, only giving you the time of day if you are french and speak their language.

Was very disappointed with the hotel, it was very noisey, took ages to get to sleep as there were dogs barking constantly, hooters going walls in hotel also very thin as i could here the next room using the toilet. The towles had lots of rips on them and the water took ages to get warm. The pillows were like sleeping on rocks, not a 4* quality you would expect, there were also ripped bed covers. The staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful and did not explain anything to you, they made you feel very unwelcome. There were not enough facilities for each guest and had to que for almost an hour to be seated. Couldn't get a bottle of water as the restaurant staff completly ignore you. Also if you do not pay your drinks bill straight after dinner they will hunt you down in your room late at night hammering on the door until you open it. Upstairs on the roof terrace smelt like raw sewage and looked like a rubbish dump. Had to wait almost an hour to receive a pool towel, by then the sun had gone in! If you are looking for a 4* hotel do not come to this one as a YMCA hostel would be a better choice.

After reading some of the reviews we were a little apprehensive of staying at this hotel but in the mix there are some good reviews too so we thought we'd chance it. Big mistake! If we were there any longer than 3 nights we would have left. Where to start? It's a shame there are SO MANY problems with the hotel. I've never had an experience like this before, nor would I say I was very fussy either. Just all in all a disappointing hotel which is definitely not a 4* more like a 2*. Why? Let's start with the initial reception, this was poor. The hotel seemed shabby in the reception and the staff were grumpy and unhelpful. We were not directed anywhere and told we could not have any money changed up until later. The room was short of 2 towels and a glass (3 adults stayed in one room) . We had to ask twice to get this put into our room. Once they arrived the towels were old hard and one had a hole in it.
The balcony might as well not have existed as it was so small you could just stand there, no room for 1 chair let alone 3! The camp bed was very uncomfortable with springs felt through it so I had to share a bed with my sister instead.
The pool was a joke, extremely tiny with not enough sunbeds. I think I counted about 11? Which is insane for a hotel that could at least accommodate about 200 people?! We also had to wait about half an hour for a towel. The same applies to the restaurant. On our last night we had to stand up waiting for a table for 45 minutes, with no explanation from the waiters or manager. They were rude, unfriendly and the dining experience was completely unorganised and definitely not what I would expect from a '4* hotel'!
The food again was average at most, bland, and no labels to say what it actually was? The vases on the table were chipped, there was not enough cutlery, dirty plates, tables! the list is endless unfortunately.
All in all an incredibly disappointing hotel. We laughed our way through it at how terrible it was (which i noticed another reviewer did, I think its the only way when you are there!!) But don't even bother to stay there even for 1 night! If we were to go again we would definitely stay in a Riad as our rep said people had no problems saying in them.

Having read some of the reviews, I was a little apprehensive about our 4 day break in Marrakesh, I would say, ignore the negative comments, I can't believe it is the same hotel that they are talking about, the hotel was clean, comfortable, very helpful staff, the breakfast was continental, from cornflakes to croissants and fresh orange juice, ok the evening meals were a little bland, the best one being the Moroccan evening, but for the price we paid, it far far exceeded our expectations.

Fantastic Juice bar, to the left of the hotel, masses of taxes to take you into the Souks etc, 50 Dh per trip,

All in all, for us, a group of 9, ranging from 3 adults to 6 teenage boys, it ticked all the boxes and we would certainly recommend this hotel.

Make sure you're getting a really good deal on accomodation, here! This is supposedly a four star hotel, but it is in serious need of a refurb. The room size was ok, but the plumbing started banging somewhere in the hotel at at about 4 in the morning (perhaps to get hot water ready for the mornng) and kept us awake. All the furniture was tired. There were two small lifts, which sometimes worked and sometimes not, but we didn't actually get stuck, The internet didn't work for three days. The restaurant was not at all popular, as they had themed buffet nights. Breakfast (buffet) was ok, but not very comprehensive. For goodness' sake, don't plan to spend any time in the public areas, as they only played one tune, for the entirety of our stay! The staff however were all helpful and deserve to have a smarter environment to work in.

This hotel is not a 4 star, it may have been so one day but the star is fading. It is a business hotel trying to be a holiday hotel, good for overnight or two, but not for a week or two. No guest lounge,no entertainment apart from very smokey bar, The lift does not always work and there are six floors. The pool area is part shade, run down and small.
The roof terrace is good but not for children, railings do not reach to the floor everywhere and a small child could climb through. There is no shelter from the wind, and the smell from the toilet vents can be upsetting. If you like salads the arrangements are good, if only the quality of the other food was as good. The waiters smiled alot, which was helpful as they only spoke french. The beds were comfortable and there was lots of hot water and clean linen.
