A lovely hotel with beautiful gardens. The staff were very helpful & pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. The food was good. I suspect we will return. In a good location to visit the medina yet fairly close to the airport.

we stayed in dar zemora for one week in March 2014. weather was perfect, and so was this small hotel and staff. very friendly and caring, creating an atmosphere were you come home after a day in this very special, overwhelming city. hotel and surroundings (a really beautiful garden) are very comfortable, so a day with a book near the pool is also a feast. I hope to come back.

Dar Zemora is a beautiful building in well-kept and attractive grounds with a large and well-kept swimming pool. Because it is small, it is quiet and uncrowded. The food is eminently edible and served by a friendly and helpful staff. So if you make the decision to stay away from the Medina, and combine a visit to Marrakech with a bit of down-time, as we did, then it is a good choice. There are though downsides – it is hard to find, quite expensive to get into the city to eat elsewhere or go sight-seeing, needs better lighting and beds/bedding (a zipped pair with a blanket with a life of its own is a bit 1960s). Having read quite a few of the reviews, we have the impression that the owners are taking a lot of notice of the compliments, but unwilling to address the criticisms. And it does come across as owned AND managed, rather than owner-managed.

From the moment we arrvied we knew we had made the right choice. If you want a luxurious boutique hotel in Marrackech then look no further. From the moment we arrvied Lindsay (the owner) Youseff (manager) and all the staff could not do enough to please. The service was truly remarkable. It ususally takes me 3/4 days to unwind, here, it took less than a day. A surprisingly outstanding trip - and if you live in Eurpope and want some sunshine from early March, without having to fly half-way accross the globe, then look no further - we will definately be back! Thank you to all at Dar Zemora. PS. we visited several other hotels to compare and nothing did!

Room Tip: We saw all rooms and they were all superb. If the pocket will stretch to it choose any of the suites...

Dar Zemora is quite tricky to find, but this was solved when we stopped at a café, hopelessly lost, and telephoned. The amazing Youssef arrived at the café within minutes and took charge of our hire car and whisked us off.
Dar Zemora is a little paradise, a very authentic, grand Marrakechi home set in beautiful gardens, lovely pool etc...
Charming ,discreet staff, would definitely visit again.
Food options and clearer instructions from the airport would be my only slightly negative observations

We really enjoyed Dar Zemora. This trip was actually our second, 9 years after our first!

We chose to go back because Youssef and his staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and lovely with the kids, but also because there is a degree of luxury but with a nice informality. The other real benefit to staying here is the ability to sample the heat and bustle of the busy market centre at a few minutes notice while hiding away within the calmer environment of the villa. It is a very nicely decorated villa set in lovely gardens, (although dark shady interiors resulted in a certain amount of difficulty with finding things in our room!). The food is good, particularly when the focus is on the traditional fare.

My only suggestions for improvements would be a) heat the pool more (even my normally unshakeable kids survived only a few minutes in it), and b) be more communicative about food options as these come a bit "take it or leave it" which I don't think is the intention!

Room Tip: The Zahara suite is the one for me! High ceilings, lovely terrace and straight out to the poolside...

Spent 2 nights at the Dar Zemora and had a fantastic time. Youssef - the head of house - could not have been more helpful. Arranged Hammam and massages for us in the on-site facilities, plus a fantastic guide (Aziz - to be recommended) & driver for a tour of the main sights of Marrakech - a great way to see the city in a short time, and very reasonable. We ate dinner in the hotel both nights - beef tagine the first night, chicken the second - both excellent. Superb gardens with both sun and shade to sit and relax in; great lounges in the Riad itself to sit and relax in the evenings. We had a standard room but that was very well appointed with small balcony, bath and shower, chairs to relax in, all very good indeed. Would love to come back again - a real piece of paradise - highly recommended.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem to have great views of the lovely gardens.
