We left the pre-Christmas bustle of the UK and found an oasis of peace and beauty at Dar Zemora. The hotel has been attractively designed and furnished for comfort and relaxation with Moroccan lamps and candles creating a lovely atmosphere. The gardens are a delight and everything is immaculately maintained. Super rooms and excellent service make this a special place to escape to and very difficult to leave!
This was our third visit to Dar Zemora and it continues to exceed expectations each time. Dar Zemora is beautiful oasis of calm in La Palmeraie on the outskirts of Marrakesh. The service is a perfect balance between being looked after and left in peace. We were made to feel absolutely welcome and completely at home. The beautiful rooms, reception areas and gardens provide wonderful space to lounge and relax after the bustle of the medina. We will be going back - again.
Loved our choice of retreat, which was very much needed, having worked non stop all year. We asked for understated luxury, with an emphasis on quiet to unwind. We requested good food, high spec but boutique accommodation and great service - on a reasonably modest budget. We got it!
The hotel is small with just three rooms plus three suites. Staff were discreet but highly professional. Our room had a wonderful feel, lovely bathroom. Open fire if desired plus a hot water bottle nightly - bliss! We had roses cut fresh from the garden. Breakfast was fresh fruits, yogurt and breads, freshly squeezed oranges from the grounds, coffee or tea. Simple but lovely especially on the terrace. Lunch was gorgeous local fare but could also be simple sandwiches if so desired. Dinner was three or four courses of local cuisine - very good standard. We didn't bother going out much as it was just too easy staying put! The added attraction of the DVD in the room helped the lazy break....
We stayed as a group of 18 and took over the hotel exclusively.
Lindsay and her local team helped plan dinners, drinks etc in advance of our arrival. We had a particularly complicated arrival schedule as people were flying in and out from different countries and on different flights - the staff at Dar Zemora handled everything immaculately.
The service was of a high standard and being such a small hotel the service is personal.
All the rooms are charming and I especially enjoyed staying in the ground floor suite which had its own outside terrace overlooking the (lush) gardens.
Afternoon tea and the delicious light lunches were very enjoyable.

This was our second trip to Dar Zemora in 2013.
We loved it.The ervice is always delightful. The chef and her team are wonderful and the food is always wonderful.
It a beautiful setting, tranquil and very relaxing.
Hotel manager Youseff and his staff are very kind and attentive at all times. The layout of the gardens is superb.
It feels like home.Very special people in a very special place.

On our fourth trip this year to Dar Zemora we are treated like family members by Youseff and his wonderful staff. Nothing is too much and the service is spectacular. We eat in each day this time and the food was to its usual high standard, with great choice of breads to accompany breakfast. Lunch is two lovely courses and coffee. Dinner varied between 3 & 4 courses and not having a menu is excellent as the only thing left to decide on is the wine to accompany the meal. The open fired provide a lovely warmth, topped off with a steaming hot shower or bath. We will be back next year.
