“Wonderful Moroccan hospitality, beautiful home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2014

We selected Riad Kniza for our 3 nights in Marrakech after careful research, but unfortunately we were double booked by a 3rd party booking site. Riad Kniza could not have been more efficient in recommending an alternative Riad for 2 nights and kindly welcoming us to Riad Kniza for our last night.

From our welcome drink to the chaperone to our taxi as we left, the staff and management could not have been more charming. They manage to achieve something special in my opinion, which is 5* hotel service, but delivered as if you are a personal guest in their home.

Our duplex suite was exquisitely comfortable, traditional but with all mod cons. The Riad adapts very well to both good and bad weather, When we arrived we sunbathed on the spacious roof terrace but when it rained later, we ate dinner in a cosy lounge with a roaring log fire.

Dinner was a traditional moroccan 5 course set meal but personalised with individual choice of main course. We drank Moroccan red wine with dinner selected by the waiter which was very good. Breakfast can be taken in your room, in one of the lounges or on the terrace and it is nice to have table service rather than the ubiquitous buffet. An excellent choice of breads, cakes pancakes, yogurt, cereals, jams were offered.

Sadly there was no time to enjoy the pool, hammam or massages, but I would recommend you do if you can.

Thank you to all the team for your kind hospitality and we hope to see you again for longer!

Ouro first stop in Morocco, this gorgeous Riad has the best of Moroccan hospitality. The room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The staff is carinho, polite and helpful all the time. Couldn't enjoy the spa because it was fully booked.

We just spent three nights at this lovely riad. The contrast between the hectic street outside, and the utter tranquility the moment you step through the door into the riad is extraordinary. We were welcomed with enthusiasm and made to feel like honoured guests throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was scattered with rose petals on our arrival. A welcome bowl of fruit was placed in the room for us. We had a comfortable room overlooking a courtyard. in the evenings there were musicians playing traditional and very tasteful music. We ate in the hotel each night, truly excellent traditional food, carefully and proudly served to us as we sat before a lovely log fire. Somehow we managed to miss visiting the roof terrace (we had most of the year's rain during our visit), so we shall just have to return!

Room Tip: I would think that any room in this riad would be truly excellent

My husband and I have just returned from a five night stay at Riad Kniza where we celebrated our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. We are really pleased to have chosen this riad for this special occasion. Our airport transfer car was met by two riad staff who led the way, taking charge of our luggage through a very busy market area. The riad door opened to reveal a completely different world to the one we had just walked through. One of peace and calm

We booked a package which included transfers, a guided walking tour of the Medina, a half day trip to the Atlas Mountains, a gourmet dinner with wine, a massage and all non alcoholic drinks. On arrival we were warmly welcomed with the news of an upgrade to the Yakout suite along with Morrocan tea and pastries.

Our room was beautiful, with lovely furnishings and a large and very comfortable bed. The room was discretely serviced twice daily with new towels, fresh fruit replenished and more bottled water delivered.

Most mornings we were able to enjoy our breakfast on the spacious roof terrace, enjoying the sunshine and atmosphere. Although the area around the riad was hectic, the riad and roof terrace were always peaceful. We enjoyed wonderful food, served in comfortable Morrocan style surroundings, by attentive but discreet waiters. All of the staff were friendly and helpful without exception and all of our requests were dealt with willingly and efficiently.

Our return flight was not until early evening, so the riad staff kindly let us use an unoccupied suite for the day, even lighting a fire for us as the weather was wet and much cooler than previous days. Our stay was rounded off with a freshly prepared lunch before our departure.

We recommend this accommodation.

We stayed here for 3 nights in September and really enjoyed our stay. Having read the TA reviews we knew what to expect when our taxi stopped at Bab Doukkala so were not put off by the crowded alleys or unassuming entrance. Inside, Riad Kniza is like a luxury Tardis - service was exceptional and the high standards were maintained through our stay. Our room was beautifully presented and was very comfortable. We ate here on our first night and and the food was good and the wines reasonably priced. The location within the medina is excellent although inevitably this impacts on sleep quality as the first prayer call was at 4am, so earplugs recommended. The overall feeling about Riad Kniza is that all the staff genuinely want you to really enjoy your stay with them and they make sure this happens. This is a really lovely hotel and we cane finitely recommend it.

We wanted some winter sunshine and Marrakesh was perfect... the Riad Kniza surpassed our expectations in every way.. I have read a lot of the other reviews and agree with them all. You really step in to another world, for those who remember Mr Ben the children's TV programme, it is exactly like this! Breakfast on the sun terrace was beautiful, and the staff could not be nicer. It was our first time in Marrakesh so we were so glad we had booked the Riad Kniza, it was a haven which is exactly what you need when you've been out side in the souks, which is quite stressful, I would recommend this holiday to couples, not families with young children or children under 16, purely because the alley ways and souks are just crazy busy you need eyes in the back of your head with the motor bikes!

Room Tip: choose a room with a fire place and a domed ceiling ...so beautiful you won't want to leave your...

Stay at Riad Kniza and our friendly driver Rostom Badrane made our Morocco trip truly awesome.
Riad Kniza is a beautiful and luxurious accommodation in Medina of Marrakech, near Bab Doukkala. It is situated in a narrow alley of a busy bazar area and I am told, some tourists when they saw the crowded area around, refused to stay there. Our reaction to the area was similar, but we knew what to expect inside Riad Kniza and we indeed enjoyed the experience of comfortable stay in a senior suite, great service, live entertainment and interaction with the host and guests. The library, sitting rooms, swimming pool and hammam are really good. Breakfast and dinners are served at different places in the Riad, at guests' chosen time.

Rustom Badrane is punctual, courteous, helpful and very responsible. He speaks English, French and Arabic and shows his country very well. He is informative, has good co-ordination with the local guides at all destinations and has a good reputation. He is friendly with a good sense of humour and engaged us in interesting conversations without being intrusive. He enjoyed listening to our collection of Hindi film songs and Indian instrumental music.
Highly recommended.

Our tour was customized by Experience it! tours and the entire team is thoroughly professional and helpful. Their communication through the planning, booking and confirmation stages was prompt, clear and satisfactory. They put together a hassle free tour including all accommodations, sights and activities of our choice with excellent vehicle and driver.

All these coupled with excellent weather and on time flights ensured happy times and marvellous memories of our Morocco trip.
