“Effective, but nothing special”

Ok hotel, staff were Ok, breakfast was Ok. The hotel was more like a large western-style hotel than anything else. We stayed here twice - we were on a hiking tour that began and ended in Marrakech, so the hotel was selected for us. The first time the room we had the A/C didn't function, which was uncomfortable. We told the front desk several times but they never triied to fix it. The second time the A/C functioned but not well. Street noise can be a problem. There is no bar in the hotel or close by; we had to walk about 5 blocks to find one. To get to the bar, walk away from the medina on the street that is on the right as you exit (pass an ATM on the corner), walk to the next major intersection (there is a gas station on the opposite corner), turn left, and walk several blocks to a somewhat seedy hotel and bar. The main part or the Medina, Djemaa el-Fna, was a 15 minute walk.

This hotel is just awfull. Me and my partner had to change room three times.
The first time be cause the bedroom was dirty, tiny and different then what we saw from the pictures. The second time some water was coming off the air cond wich flooded the floor and made our luggage wet, Then we had to call 4 times the reception as they think that it was a major issue. After an hour or so, and aftter tears we finally get in an other suite where hair was on the floor. Air con was so noisy at night that we had to turn it off. But because it was so hot then, we could not sleep. The attitude of the staff was really unprofessional, and they even refuse me to see the director.
The swimming pool was dirty , you could not see the bottom as it was so mirky and i even pictured it with a cigarette inside. The waitress at restaurant ask me for a cigarette and I felt obliged to give him one as he was the one that would bring my food (if you know what I mean..)
Well, we had such a bad time time there, and it would take me too long to explain everything. Please don't go there or you'll regret it. Please see my pics (cigarette in the pool, cockroaches in the bathroom, rust on the bath) in the SUITE(what a joke).
If I was allowed to score 0 i would.

The hotel is in a reasonable location. The rooms are clean, if not particularly large. I had read some of the reviews and didn't expect much, but in general it was okay. I'd reccomend it if you are on a budget, but if you can afford a bit more there are some more interesting places to stay.

We have arrived to Marrakesh train station from Fez at midnight.Magador hotel location is near to train station. But Taxi drivers are a little of awake and refuse to open
meter to Magador. At least we have dealed a fixed price ,but it was expensive.
When we arrived to hotel ,Staff was very friendly and quickly found our reservation and We made late checking there was no problem. We have stayed 4 nights for triple. The hotel room was large with a massive bed and bathroom was also good.the rooms are clean and are regularly cleaned. But I think that in rooms walls are very thin and you can hear sounds from next room. There is not internet connection for rooms ,You can go to internet cafe very near the hotel. In corridors you can smell fishy , it was bad. Also, there is a supermarket directly beneath the hotel which stocks almost everything you need.
The breakfast was basic but adequate with pastries, boiled eggs, croissants, french bread, jam, cheese and meat, coffee, tea and orange juice.Hotel is very close the Main bus station to go the other parts of country ,aslo close to the medina, all the souks ,it is within working distance to the Jemaa El Fna ( 30 - 35 minute ).Petit and Grand Taxis are accessible 24 hours a day outside the hotel.
We also have booked by hotel Chez Ali event. It was a great and there was no problem with it.
in summary the hotel is a good budget option.

Note :NOTE: always set a price when you get a taxi to and from the hotel.

Stayed 4 nights at the above hotel and I must say I was pleasantly surprised - I had heard that the walls etc were dirty, and read lots about the 'smell'...however, during our stay we did not experience anything like that!

Between us (there was 5 of us in the group) we took 2 rooms. One was a double which was adequately sized and we also had a triple room (3 single beds) which was massive with 2 bathrooms.

Each room also has a safe which was handy as we could leave valuables when going out. You can get a key from reception for 20 dirhams a day.

Also, there is a supermarket directly next door/beneath the hotel which stocks almost everything you need - a bit like Tescos at home!

As for the location, I think it's brilliant as it is within working distance to the Jemaa El Fna, Jardin Majorelle, McDonalds (which is in Gueliz, the modern part of town) etc or you can take short and cheap taxi rides to Oasiria Water Park, Menara Gardens, Saadian Tombs etc.

The only negative things about the hotel - lifts are very small and the hallway lights go out every few minutes so you're suddenly left in darkness! But there are switches everywhere to re-activate the lighting. These are minor things that can be overlooked though!!

All in all, I would recommend this hotel! Excellent value for money.

We spent 5 nights in Marrakesh and the hotel was great. Very close to the medina, all the souks, Jardin Majorelle, etc. We walked everywhere. The room was basic, nice, and most importantly, clean. Breakfast was basic, but there is a huge supermarket, internet, and other stores right there, not to mention that you can easily eat in the medina or the new part of the city. (go there if u want alcohol) We had a room facing the main road, which can get quite noisy from traffic, but we enjoyed looking out over the city and the medina. We were 6 MSc students from various countries, first time in Maroc, and this hotel was perfect for our needs. Can't beat the price and location.
Word of warning- there are two (possibly 3) Ryad Mogadors in Marrakesh. Check which one u are going to! Also, if you are looking for romance, I would recommend one of the more upscale places or traditional ryads. Like the previous posts stated, there is a pool, but it is small and set behind the hotel. Give that its a hotel in the middle of a city, not to mention a water scarce country, this shouldnt be too big a suprise. There are other fantastic pools nearby if you are dying for a swim!
