Owner description: This is the Jewish neighborhood in Marrakech. Here you´ll find the Lezama Synagoge, an important historical site, as well as other eating and shopping opportunities.

This is an area in the city were the Jews used to live. The large , once grand houses are all now derelict and the area is full of rubbish, debris and lots of kittens. I image it used to be very grand. Very interesting.

The Mellah gives a great insight to a real functioning market that is not for tourists. Definitely worth bobbing in, but hold your nose in the meat market :-)

A break from the intensity of Marrakech is always welcome and this is a good opportunity. It's also very beautiful and moving and well worth 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour to get your breath back. It's also good that there is a Jewish area of a Muslim country, Morocco is not hard line thanks to a wise king.

Great for spices a calmer atmosphere but a great walk through on way to Jma - nice handicrafts and metal work.

Don't let the front entrance or the website of this hidden treasure detour you. We stumbled on this little treasure whilst walking the streets of the jewish quarter. After four men enticed us to come in and look, we got a small tour of a very authentic and traditional raid. When we returned that evening we were given tea upon arrival, a small basket filled with towel, road, slippers and disposable panties and the most wonderful, personal and real service we have had yet to experience. The women who serviced us we the sweetest and had hands of gold. REALLY! I am rating my aragon oil rub as one of the best I have ever had. The environment was relaxed, inviting, clean and fun. It was a first for my 15 year old daughter and the women could not have been more wonderful and made her feel so comfortable. Fantastic service. BEST prices. For 540 dir. we left feeling like a million bucks!
