Owner description: Nicely designed and maintained gardens, similar to those of Generalife in Granada, Spain. It’s a good place to recoup from the intensity of the market atmosphere.

“An oasis of style”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

These wonderful gardens were a joyful respite from the hustle of the Medina, however the gardens were nothing special in themselves. The joy was the wonderful blue of the Majorelle Blue. But that said, the Berber Museum in the old studio was brilliant. The best example of Berber history we found, compared to the Musee of Marrakech. you must visit the museum when you go to the gardens. It completes the visit. Go early as can become tourist crazy too.

“Amazing Cactii”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

It is a pretty garden with large and amazingly large Cactii. The atmosphere is serene and lush. It houses a YSL museum, a memorial and a beautiful store with lovely things. Plenty of benches around to rest while absorbing in the greenery.

Apparently this belonged to YSL and a small building in the garden has been painted in this eye catching blue which has the touch of a creative master

“Nice samll garden”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

This is a nice small garden. You will porbably finish up the tour of the garden in less than 30 minutes. However, the colors are abosloutely beautiful and your will find a vriety of cactus plants.

“Go early and have the garden to yourself!”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

We were lucky to spend time in the garden early on ad Saturday morning! it was perfect! before the tourist buses arrived. We did not try the cafe and the gift shop was very expensive, postcards were 10 Dhs each. Outside the garden is a small kiosk selling more postcards. The garden is immaculate and very peaceful in such a busy city.

“One of the highlights of Marrakech - a must see”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

This garden, bought and restored by Yves Saint Laurent is a lovely oasis in Marrakech.

The YSL took the garden, restored the planting and walkways and added his own splash of colour which turns this into a magnificent and fabulous creation.

It is a bit out of the centre so you can either get there via a long walk over some busy roads or you can get a taxi. There are plenty of taxis to get you back. Or I'm told you can hire a horse and buggy from the Jemma al Fna to take you and bring you back.

Either way, this is a must-see. But go early morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the crowds.
