Owner description: Nicely designed and maintained gardens, similar to those of Generalife in Granada, Spain. It’s a good place to recoup from the intensity of the market atmosphere.

The Gardens were a nice little afternoon entertainment. It was only a few pounds to get in and the museum is a must. It was nice to see YSL memorial garden and the museum explained all the history of marakkesh which was very interesting. All finished off with a little afternoon tea and cake at their little Coffee Shop

This was a cool and quiet place to be during the hottest part of the day. Beautifully designed and cared for garden. There are many cacti, trees etc, which are labelled telling their country of origin.

We visited the gardens expecting to only spend an hour or so there. But we ended up spending about three hours in the end!

The gardens aren't very big but are stunning- a botanist would probably be able to tell you about the variety of species but I just knew that it was beautiful.
We wandered around the gardens taking photos and reveling in the shade. The park wardens are very lovely and were happy to take photos of us and chat.

There is a small room of posters designed by Yves Saint Laurent in the gardens during his ownership of them- if you're a fan of fashion it is great to visit as his ashes were scattered there.

The real highlight of the trip though was the little gallery in the gardens. It housed artwork, tools, costume, jewellery and so on from the Berber tribe of North Africa. Which was all very interesting when explained by the BEST GALLERY GUIDE OF ALL TIME. He was very witty and spoke 5 languages, filling us in on the background to the objects and also just providing genuinely lovely conversation. I wish I could remember his name. BUT everyone should visit for him alone!

Very pretty and a lovely cool haven away from the mayhem that is the medina. We say some amazing cactus and the largest bamboo I've ever seen. Worth an hour or two to visit.
