Owner description: Nicely designed and maintained gardens, similar to those of Generalife in Granada, Spain. It’s a good place to recoup from the intensity of the market atmosphere.

“an oasis of peace and quiet”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

Lovely gardens. More cactus than flowers. Interesting to see if you have a spare 45 minutes.probably nicer if the sun was out and you could sit a while!

“Peaceful and beautiful”

These gardens are an amazing and quiet oasis within Marrackech, and a great way to begin or end your day of sightseeing. Inexpensive, as well.

“Not worth lingering”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

I disagree this is a place to linger - nothing lush or exotic. All we saw was a few tacky blue buildings and a selection of cactus plants. Alsoat the entrance you will be pestered by taxi drivers and hawkers. If you want to see a nice garden, visit La Mamounia Hotel where the gardens are beautifully landscaped and full of flowers even when we visited at the end of February.

“A cool respite from the hustle and bustle”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

A lovely, and well maintained garden in the North of the city. Unfortunately, when I visited, maintenance was being carried out in parts of the garden, meaning that several paths were out of bounds, which had an effect on the flow of visitors; it seemed really busy. Interesting cactuses and lots of shady places to sit. The Berber museum is definitely worth a visit - it's really well laid out, and there are information cards in English about all the exhibits. Small, but the best of the museums I visited in Marrakech. Nice, but pricy outdoor cafe, and good clean toilets. I've got a strange urge to paint everything yellow and Marjorelle Blue now. Caleche stand outside, but it's an easy walk from Gueliz and the Northern Medina riads.

“Spoilt by crowd”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

This would be a delightful place if you could visit when there are few other visitors. It would then be a haven of peace in a bustling city.
