Owner description: Nicely designed and maintained gardens, similar to those of Generalife in Granada, Spain. It’s a good place to recoup from the intensity of the market atmosphere.

“peaceful gardens”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2012

the gardens are located outside of the medina and we used a taxi to get there. The gardens are not large but they were a relaxing and beautiful place to come at the end of a busy day tour of Marrakech

“Mediocre site in Marrakech”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

I would like to give this site higher marks, but I have to be honest...it is rather mediocre. Yes, it was owned by Yves Saint Laurent. I get that, but it has to be more going for it than that. It is a green oasis amongst a rather dry, arid area. I did enjoy the oversaturated bursts of color in the buildings and pottery against the greenery. That is unique, but the overall design seemed a little tired and haphazard. As a photographer, I was looking for some great shots to showcase this site, but I was hard-pressed to find any. The main house is probably the most striking due to color, but getting a photo from any vantage point was very difficult. It can make a pleasant stroll if time is no problem, but I would not overlook other sights to fit this into a jam-packed itinerary. If you are going to enjoy the Berber Musuem located in the main house, then this sight does warrant a little more attention. Be aware that the sight is outside of the Medina tucked off a major street among very modern, non-descript housing blocks. This is not a charming neighborhood by any measure. Walking there from the Medina is not that much fun. Most people seem to take a cab or use a tour operator. Do your homework and make sure you have the time and inclination to spend time at this attraction.

“Lovely gardens”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

Majorelle gardens are very beautiful and a peaceful retreat from the hectic atmosphere of the Medina and even the traffic of the new town. Well worth a visit but it is located quite far out from the medina, possibly a good 40 min walk.

“A peaceful retreat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

We loved our visit here - definitely worth a morning away from the hustle and bustle, to enjoy its calm and beauty. Also worth checking out the Berber museum inside for a few extra dirham, and visiting the cafe - we paid more for the usual Moroccan fare but were enjoying the atmosphere so much it was a great excuse to stay longer!

“Lovely Garden, Great Museum and Cafe.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

Very interesing and beautiful place, cafe has great food and staff, the Berber museum is well worth seeing and the gift shop has many nice gifts, the perfume is especially nice. Visit early morning or late aftrnoon as it can be very busy. Couple of good shops and a cafe across the road from the gardens as well.
