“My first stay in a medina”
Reviewed February 7, 2014

When i landed in Morocco, i had no idea what to expect. This riad was the first place i chose to stay at. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with a style that takes you back to the time of the Arabian Nights. All the small details are carefully chosen and the overall effect is pleasant. The owner is very friendly and can direct you to the best places in town and she can make arrangements for day tours. The breakfast, although rather poor, is fresh and tasty.

On the down side - the medina is dirty, crowded and pollution from the motorbikes at rush hour is choking. The walk to the even more crowded is long and annoying since there are no sidewalks, just a common road where people, motorbikes, cars and donkey-drawn carts meet in a chaotic movement.

My sister and I and a cousin stayed here in December for 5 nights. Valerie the owner is very helpful with places to see and how to get there, the place is clean, very quiet, but a little far to walk to the Jeema el Fna, but a lovely experience anyway.

Room Tip: Four rooms which makes it very quiet

Stayed 2 nights at this riad and it was a good experience, nice cozy rooms, warm hospitality in a riad only 15 mins from the heart of the medina so close enough to get there, but not too close so it's nice and peaceful

Pros:
Lovely breakfast, nice cozy rooms with A/C so handy in the winter as it keeps the room warm
Kind host who met us when we arrived, as we got rather lost and nearly led astray by some local boys trying to make a quick buck or two
Nice quiet location but only 15 mins away from the heart of the action in the medina

Cons:
Hard to find as the riad is not marked out or signposted so you would need someone to meet you to show you where it is
A little dusty and could be a little bit cleaner but not a bit problem

All in all, a very reasonable riad and definitely would stay again
